Creating queer hope & joy

Celebrating LGBTQ+ people is incredibly important in supporting our communities, overcoming barriers and navigating a world that is increasingly hostile. We believe that queer liberation is possible, and we work every day to create a world where all LGBTQ+ people can live free from discrimination and oppression. Ultimately, LGBT Foundation’s goal is to create a world where all LGBTQ+ people can live their lives to the fullest.

We believe that queer hope and joy are powerful tools in achieving this goal, and we are committed to doing everything we can to foster these qualities in our community.

Our guide includes information on asking about someone’s pronouns, how to support a friend if they come out as trans and how to show your support for trans people. It also covers what to do if you make a mistake, what to do if you have a friend or relative who keeps making jokes about trans people as well as a range of other topics.

What is a Woman?

We’ve published a fresh new guide on what it means to be a woman, alongside an empowering video on Being an LGBTQ+ woman.

There are as many ways of being a woman as there are women in the world. There is so much that unites all women: our shared joys, our unique experiences, and the challenges we face in a patriarchal world. These are often increased and impacted by our other identities such as race, sexuality, and disabilities. We are all multifaceted people who go beyond a simple sentence summarising womanhood. A rigid, simplistic definition both limits and reduces our womanhood.
