"Over 35 years of experience in English Language teaching/training and assessment, of which 27 years have been in Bahrain. I started my teaching career in Bahrain in 1992 and then worked as Deputy Manager for a leading language school in Bahrain for 15 years. My primary responsibilities included developing English as a second language programs, placement of students within the language programs and implementing teaching, learning and achievement standards. Currently I work as a freelance English Language consultant. Since 2012, I have worked as an English language specialist reviewer with BQA, the Education and Training Quality Authority in Bahrain. I also tutor students who need to develop their language skills either for professional or academic purposes. I am an avid advocate for a plastic- free world and in my free time, I volunteer for some not- for- profit organizations that undertake environmental initiatives. I also am a keen sports enthusiast. Hayat Al-Khawaja has an extensive experience of more than 20 years in the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance (QA) practices. Currently she is a freelance external consultant with the Directorate of Vocational Reviews (DVR) at the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) under a contact. Hayat started her career as an instructor with Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) where she taught different Electronics’ Engineering and Mathematics modules by BTEC/Edexcel up to Higher National Diploma levels. She has improved the trainees’ outcomes and supervised a number of trainees’ graduated projects. Hayat showed outstanding contributions and achieve remarkable outcomes. For instant, she has proven supervisory skills and was involved in all aspects of learning including the development of training and learning materials where she was also the leaders for a number of training modules. Additionally, she was appointed as the national diploma internal QA coordinator within the Division at BTI. Hayat joined BQA in its early stage in 2008 as a full time-reviewer until her retirement in 2021 after holding the position of an Advisor. She participated successfully on evaluating more than 100 vocational reviews over the four Review Cycles including the exceptional circumstances period. She also contributed effectively in the development of the review mechanisms and their implementations. Hayat took part in the training of the providers’ self-evaluation workshops and heavily involved in the training and mentoring both internal and external reviewers. Moreover, she also chaired the development of the DVR Cycle 4 Handbook and took an essential part of the development of the review’s tools and documents and created ways that are more efficient and effective in reviewing and carrying analysis. Hayat was involved well in the day-to-day operations at DVR and was an active member in the scheduling and planning for the providers’ reviews and as well as thorough analysis of data. Additionally, she was involved in the preparation of the BQA external audits and she was also a member in a number of internal and external committees. Hayat completed her BSc in Electrical Engineering (University of Bahrain, 2002) and later achieved her MSc degree with Distinction in Electronics Communication & Computer Engineering with minor project management (Nottingham University, UK, 2006). As well, she completed an ‘Advanced Diploma in Instructional Techniques (train the trainer). In addition, she obtained various international certificates in relevance to quality assurance qualifications and training sessions.

Jamal is a freelancer as external consultant of vocational reviews at the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), before that he worked with the BQA since its commnecment in 2007 till 2019 as director of vocational quality reviews and contributed to the improvement of the review procedures, practices and implementation. He is an experienced and knowledgeable director in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). Kareema Abdul-Razzaq Abbas has wide experience in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies, procedures and practices. Currently, she is a freelance external consultant with the Directorate of Vocational Reviews (DVR) in the Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA). Kareema holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Kuwait University, and Master’s degree of Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Human Resources Management - A.M.A International University- Bahrain. In addition, Kareema completed an “advance Diploma in instructional techniques” from the BTI, and she is a certified review team member and review team leader by Reviewer Competence Quality Mark (RCQM). Kareema started her professional experience as an engineer in the technical department in B.R.C Weldmesh (Gulf) W.L.L., and she progressed to head of the department. Her main duties cover estimating quantities of reinforcement, preparing bar bending schedules and sketches for fixing reinforcement as per the structural drawings, and site supervision. In 2001, Kareema started her experience in the training field as an instructor in the department of Building & Construction in Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), where she taught different civil engineering subjects, and participated in corporate training withing the BTI. In addition to counselling trainees within the department. In 2003, Kareema joined the Specific Council for Vocational Training in Industry (SCVTI) as a training specialist. She covered various responsivities such as providing counseling and consultation services for the industrial organizations under SCVTI related to training, training planning, training needs analysis (TNA), and evaluation of training. In addition to conducting periodic site visits for industrial organizations and training providers to ensure high standards of training, conducting studies related to training in industrial organizations, and active participation in various committees such as training, industrial awareness, and apprenticeship programs in the SCVTI. Kareema joined the BQA in the early of 2008 as a director of vocation reviews until her retirement in 2022 holding a position of Chief, Institution Performance Review, DVR. She effectively led and participated in more than 100 vocational reviews over four Cycles including the exceptional Circumstances period.
