Join Lightwave and Suffolk Sound across the county this Christmas to sing carols together and spread some seasonal cheer.

We are delighted that Suffolk Sound are partnering with Lightwave to promote community carol singing and raise funds for local charities.

It's easy to take part: Any community carol-singing event can join in.  You can download customisable carol sheets from this page - and use Suffolk Sounds backing track if you haven't got musical accompaniment.  Then see who from your community would like to join you to sing carols and raise money for a good cause - pubs, village halls and care homes are great places for community carol singing.

If you register your event with Suffolk Carols via this link your event will be advertised on Suffolk Sound and on our Facebook Group.  As many people as possible will also get the opportunity for a radio interview about your event and a limited number of carol singing events will be featured in a Suffolk Sound Programme on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.  Suffolk Carols have made everything easy for you with a customisable carol sheet and an online backing track (found in the rssource section below).

Once you have registered, via the link on the right, if you would also like to provide a photo which we can use to publicise your event on our website and on social media please email to lightwave.community@cofesuffolk. If there are people in the photo please make sure you have all the necessary permissions for these to be published  before providing the photo.  You can also post about your event yourself on the Suffolk Carols Facebook page.

Listen to Suffolk Sound via the link on the right.

"Faith Matters"  with Lightwave Rural Chaplain Graham Miles is on Sundays 7-8am.  You can listen again to last Sunday's programme HERE.

Along with the Suffolk Carols Carol Sheet (available to download in the resouces below) we have compiled a Spotify playlist which matches the carol sheet and which you should be able to sing along to!  Not all the carols have introductions so be ready to sing from the start!

You can access the playlist by clicking HERE, or just search for Suffolk Carols from your Spotify App on your phone or tablet (or computer).

If you don’t have a Spotify account clicking on the link above will prompt you to create one which you can do for free – with limitations.  Then you can listen via your web browser or download the app from the Apple App Store, or Google Play or the Spotify website. All the download options can be found here.

If you have a free account there are restrictions. You will find that Spotify will play ads from time to time. You will also need an internet connection to play songs, which, if you are outside with poor mobile reception, might be an issue. To get around this you should be able to get a free 3 month trial of Spotify Premium, but you would need to remember to cancel it afterwards before you get charged!
