Story

Friday 30th April will be the biggest challenge we’ve ever faced!

I am back with another challenge, and this time joined by Ben Hampson! This one is going to be tough. We’ve both played 72 holes of golf in a day before, but this time the challenge is greater. This time the aim is to play 100 holes in one day, at Mile End Golf Club, and I am delighted that Ben is going to be joining me!

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on The Movement Centre, with the cancellation of events and the loss of income. At a time when fundraising is difficult, The Movement Centre are excited to announce we are signed up to Captain Tom 100, to celebrate his amazing challenge, as he stepped up to help.

We will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help raise vital funds for The Movement Centre!

The Movement Centre is a UK charity and specialist treatment centre. They are dedicated to supporting children and their families living with movement disabilities.

They have a small but dedicated team who work closely with families and provide a specialist therapy called Targeted Training to help children gain movement control. Targeted Training therapy can enable children to develop new skills and become far more independent. This can have a huge impact on their life. It can also make a big difference to the lives of their family and friends.

Through a course of Targeted Training therapychildren can gain head control, so they can interact with their family; it can help children develop the skills to sit unaided, so that they can play with their friends. For some children it can enable them to walk, which means they can be far more independent!

Most of us take for granted the ability to control our head, sit, crawl, stand or walk. We help children with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay & other problems of movement control to achieve these skills through a unique therapy, Targeted Training, which can completely change their lives.
