Home Furniture: Interest in the Region Rising

When the first cases of covid-19 were recorded in Central America, interest in this type of furniture collapsed, but, since April, the number of Internet searches and digital interactions associated with the topic began to grow in all countries.

Through a system that monitors in real time changes in consumer interests and preferences in Central American countries, developed by CentralAmericaData, it is possible to project short and long-term demand trends for the different types of furniture, products, services, sectors and markets operating in the region.

In Guatemala, the volume of Internet searches and social networks associated with home furnishings reported a sustained decline since March 8, but stopped falling on April 12 and interest has recovered since that date.

In El Salvador, the interactive report shows that between March 15 and April 19 of this year in the digital environment, interest in this type of furniture plummeted, but since April 26 the number of interactions began to increase. Until the beginning of September, searches continued to rise.

In Costa Rica, the interest under analysis has begun to recover since April 12, and this behavior continued until the beginning of September. Honduras is a similar case to Costa Rica, as the interactions associated with the issue began to rebound in the Honduran market as of May 3.

The interactive system details that in the case of the Panamanian market, the trend shows a sustained increase in consumer interest in furniture, which began on April 19.

This tool for monitoring the interests of consumers in any country in the region allows companies to project demand trends and anticipate changes that will occur in the various sectors and categories of products and services. This information system allows tracking of any product or category, resulting in an extremely valuable input to make business decisions in the new commercial reality.
