An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Emergency Planning Shared Service, a shared service between Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council.
This role is a key role within the team to ensure the Councils Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response arrangements are in place and maintained to a high standard.
You will be part of a network of competent professionals and expected to work across both shared service partners.
The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities to develop and enhance our resilience and emergency preparedness. You will work with staff, managers and partners to enhance and embed awareness of these arrangements and the council’s readiness to respond to a variety of incidents.
Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues. It is important that the post holder is able to prioritise their workload and have the ability to recognise the importance of meeting deadlines.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
