Rotherham Adoption Service have joined One Adoption South Yorkshire Regional Adoption Agency, a partnership model with Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of adoption services across all four areas.
The Adoption Team focus is on:
Recruiting and assessing adopters for children when the plan is permanency through adoption.
An opportunity to be part of developing the services of the Regional Adoption Agency
Working closely with colleagues to achieve timely adoption placement.
Promoting Early Permanence for children whose plan is adoption to ensure children are placed in adoption placements at the earliest opportunity and promote EPP within the recruitment of adopters.
Collaborative working with colleagues across the region to develop and deliver a Communications Plan to increase the number of adoptive families available.
Quality preparation, training, and support of adopters pre and post adoption order.
Developing working relationships with other Adoption Agencies and partners.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join the Adoption Team. The service is committed to developing and maintaining good practice in all areas of adoption including permanence planning and transition and increasing the number of adopters and timeliness of adoption placements.
You will have a sound knowledge of Child Care and Adoption legislation and ideally have three years post qualifying experience, and experience of Adoption work to meet the Adoption Regulations criteria for preparation of Adoption reports.
You will possess a professional qualification e.g. CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent and registered with Social Work England
You will be able to negotiate tactfully when dealing with potential conflict.
You will be capable of accurate reporting and the communication of sometimes complex information to a variety of audiences.
You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
