Join our Northern Ireland Council
We’re currently looking for people to join our Northern Ireland National Council. Our National Councils help us reach further into the MS community in each nation of the UK, acting as ambassadors for our cause and enabling people affected by MS to share what matters most to them. Councils help to deliver our strategy and national plans, and contribute to the Board’s understanding of nation specific priorities and issues.
Most council members have a personal connection to MS, either because they’re living with MS themselves or because someone they care about is. If you’re appointed, we’ll expect you to share our values and have – or be prepared to develop – an understanding of MS. The role of council member is voluntary, and is unpaid.

During the weeks of 13 & 20 November 2023 – Candidate interviews (online)
1 January 2024 – Start in role
How to apply
When you submit your application, please use the space provided to explain how your skills, experience and knowledge (paid work, volunteering and personal experience) would help you in this role. Please also tell us about why you’re interested in volunteering with us, including any personal connection you have to MS and the MS Society. We will also ask for details of two referees who can comment on your suitability for this role.
Your application will be considered by a recruitment panel. The panel will follow our standard shortlisting process, which will help them to decide whether to invite you to attend an online interview. If your interview is successful, the panel will recommend you for appointment and we’ll contact your referees.
