Mandhira and Benoît met in 2015 and immediately realised that a long term collaboration was necessary. In January 2017, they spent time composing and recording the tracks which form this debut album, Spinneret, which will be released on Confront. The music explores and pushes the limits of the sounds that their respective instruments, violin and prepared piano, can create. Spinneret is a delicately woven tapestry of sound and texture, which takes the listener on a journey through a unique sonic landscape – something both familiar and yet strangely unsettling at the same time.
