Braeside Farm Cottage, Oturehua

Welcome to Braeside Farm Cottage, nestled into a sheltered corner of our farm near the top of the Ida Valley. Braeside is a 5500ha high-country sheep and beef farm, and has been in the McKnight family since 1878. It is currently farmed by the 4th generation of McKnights – brothers Graeme and Alastair, and Al’s partner Philippa.

Previously used as a shearer’s quarters, the cottage has beautiful views over the valley – sunrises over Rough Ridge, the distinctive Hawkduns to the North, and stunning evening skies over Blackstone Hill in the west.

In a paddock beside the historic stone-walled sheep yards, the newly refurbished cottage sleeps 6, has a comfortable kitchen/lounge and a shared bathroom and you can enjoy relaxing on the deck at the end of your day as the sun goes down.
