P.S. 90 Edna Cohen School principal Greta Hawkins, 49, nixed part of a school ceremony where students were set to march with flags to the patriotic tune "Stand Up for the Red, White and Blue," teachers told the New York Daily News.
The 49-year-old elementary school principal told teachers she scrapped the plans because staffers didn't ask for her permission, the Daily News reported.
Staffers, however, didn't appear to buy her reasoning.
Teachers told the Daily News that Hawkins has a history of banning patriotic themed music from events. She reportedly refused to let students sing "God Bless the USA" in 2012 because she didn't agree with the song's lyrics.
Hawkins could not be reached by TheBlaze for comment Monday evening.
