Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group

Welcome to the Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group web-pages.

Established in 2007, the Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group provides a forum for established and emerging academics interested in financial markets and financial institutions.

The Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group aims to:

  • Encourage research and scholarship in Financial Markets and Institutions and cognate fields of inquiry.
  • Provide a forum for established academics to meet and exchange ideas.
  • Provide support for PhD students in Financial Markets and Institutions.
  • Develop close links with professional and industry bodies relevant to FM&I SIG membership to inform and advance policy.
  • Organise workshops and activities supporting the aims of the FM&I SIG.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the British Accounting and Finance Association.

Announcement. 

It is a great pleasure to announce we have appointed Professor Jon Williams from the University of Surrey to be Treasurer for the BAFA Financial Markets and Institutions SIG. We have also appointed 

Dr Ranadeva Jayasekera, Trinity College Dublin to the position of Operations Director.
