Information on coronavirus

Please note: As part of Germany's new Infection Protection Act, the 3G rule is now in effect for public passenger transportation. This means that all passengers traveling on a domestic German flight must have a negative Covid-19 test, a vaccination certificate or proof of recovery ready.

Since June 11, 2022, all  entry restrictions  to Germany have been lifted.

Provided that entry is possible according to the current entry restrictions (see above), the following pandemic-related regulations apply to entry:  

In general, no returning passenger  needs to present a 3G detection anymore, unless they are entering from an area of variants of concern. Currently, no countries are designated as areas of variants of concern, so no further regulations apply. For more information, please refer to the Coronavirus Entry Regulations.

Also no transferring passenger  needs to present a 3G detection anymore, unless they are entering from an  area of variants of concern. Passengers who are simply changing flights at an airport in the Federal Republic of Germany coming from an area of variants of concern must comply with the obligations to provide proof of vaccination, recovery or testing specified in the Ordinance on the  Coronavirus Entry Regulations.

Transport companies are obliged to inform travelers about the valid entry regulations and testing obligations of the Federal Republic of Germany.

For Crews the following regulations apply:

• Entry registration:  Crews entering Germany and who have stayed in an area of VOC during the last 10 days before entry are exempted from entry registration  (This does not apply to crews who have stayed longer than 72 hours in a VOC within the last 10 days and will stay longer than 72 hours in Germany).
• Testing:  Crews are exempted from mandatory   testing (Exception when returning from an area of VOC: If a crew member was not able to carry an actual proof of negative covid testing, the crew member must do a PCR test immediately after arrival. It must be repeated after 10 days in case the crew member is still in Germany).
• Quarantine:  Crews  entering Germany and who have stayed in an area of VOC during the last 10 days before entry are exempted from mandatory quarantine  (This does not apply to crews who have stayed longer than 72 hours in an VOC within the last 10 days and will stay longer than 72 hours in Germany).

Our medical center is offering supplementary medical checkups and tests in "special appointments". You can get a nose and throat swab test for Sars-CoV-2 just in case or get checked for antibodies (there is a charge for both of these services).
To give our medical staff a chance to prepare and appropriately protect themselves, you must make and receive advance confirmation of an appointment via the Internet.  As self-paying or without a written declaration for assumption of costs, it is required to pay directly, e.g. with credit card. The current costs can be found on each online booking tool (appointment via the internet).  

The shops and restaurants at the airport are open again: in Terminal 1 as well as Terminal 2.
