We’re a team of passionate, talented, enthusiastic and expert people, doing everything we can to keep the zoo going, from feeding the animals to discovering new conservation ideas, and giving our 1.9 million visitors an inspirational day out. Chester zoo, in conjunction with Liverpool University, is offering a European College of Zoological Medicine approved post graduate residency programme in Zoo Health Management based at the zoo.

This includes preventative health planning and implementation, relevant disease testing, quarantine assessment of new animals, suitable treatment of any ill or injured animals, as well as post-mortem examinations. On completion of this programme, the resident will have attained a broad clinical base for future involvement in a variety of nondomestic animal setups including zoological facilities, research institutions and universities
