About this event

Hosted by Ofgem, this event is an opportunity for you to hear from Ofgem, National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) and Energy Networks Association (ENA, representing local electricity network operators known as DNOs) to discuss what would happen in the unlikely scenario that there is an energy shortage emergency this winter).

This webinar will set out the steps that the energy system will take to avoid an energy shortage emergency, as well as explaining what would happen in the unlikely event of scheduled power outages.

We’re inviting you to this webinar because you may work with people who are in a vulnerable situation or are medically dependent on electricity. The support available to customers during an energy shortage emergency is different to the level of support that some customers will be familiar with if they have experienced power outages due to maintenance or weather events.

The event will be chaired by Rebecca Barnett, Director, Networks, Ofgem and will include contributions from ESO and ENA. This will be followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions about the processes for an energy shortage emergency this winter.

The seminar will be fully virtual and the link with the joining instructions will be sent prior to the event to all registered attendees

We hope to see you on: Thursday 15 December 2022 10:00-11:00.

To be kept up to date on news and events from Ofgem, ENA, ESO, BEIS & Energy UK please kindly email stakeholders@ofgem.gov.uk to be added to our distribution list.
