Radiology services should become more patient centred, says report

Improving patient experience should be at the centre of work to increase capacity in radiology services, according to a report from the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme.1

The NHS carries out almost 120 000 radiological procedures in England daily and the number is increasing by 1.3m annually. Almost all trusts need more staff to meet this demand and there is huge pressure on equipment and an urgent need for more physical space in many radiology services, the report said.
