Beautiful, penniless American girl meets handsome, wealthy Scotsman.
Sounds like the beginning of a fairy-tale romance?
It’s not.

This story begins with a contract.
And an exchange of money.
A lot of money.

An angel perches nervously on one shoulder.
A devil lounges smugly on my other.
And even that dark little bastard is leery of what I’m doing.

Maxwell Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience.
All of it.
And I’m going to give it to him.

I’m not supposed to enjoy being his whore.
I’m also not supposed to fall in love with him.
But I do. Both.

When our contract expires, I will walk away.
Because I have to.
But he’ll always have a piece of me.

I’ll mask my sorrow with a smile.
I’ll hide my love with indifference
… all while it’s killing me softly.

A fairy-tale romance.
It isn’t mine to have.
And this man I’ve come to love so dearly isn’t my happily ever after.

About Eighty-One Nights:
While the characters from Eighty-One Nights are entirely new, their storyline is a combination of fresh material and carefully selected themes, scenes, and settings from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. This is intentional. I chose some of my favorite elements from previous releases and interjected them into Hutch and Lou’s story. Let’s call it a “story fusion” between our old favorites and new material.

(This title was very briefly released as The Girlfriend Experience under a pen name. This edition contains new and updated material different from that of the original release.)

What starts out as a contracted “Girlfriend Experience” blossoms into so much more.

Maxwell Hutcheson recently lost his wife. He’s lonely, and holding on to so many secrets, while being held to unreasonably high expectations from the people in his life. Caitriona Louden is an American living in Scotland, trying to get an education, and waiting tables just to scrape by. Both of these people have less than ideal situations they are going through. And both of these people turn to Inamorata to try to make their lives a little better. Cait as a inamorata and Hutch as a client.

From the start these two have an undeniable attraction to one another. Cait is reluctant and unsure about the arrangement that Hutch suggests, but after getting to know him she agrees to try the girlfriend experience with him. 81 days and 81 nights. A full summer with Hutch. Can she have a relationship with him without getting her heart hurt? Once his secrets come out and they start to share more and more can they keep from falling in love? It’s just a contract. It’s just a lie. It’s just pretend. Sigh.

What I will say first is that this story is a duet, so yes this book does end with a bit of a cliffhanger. I don’t mind it because honestly we get an entire story and the first part of their relationship. Am I dying to know what happens next? Well of course, but the first part is fulfilling and such a ride, that I can say I’m satisfied so far. There is a sweet blossoming relationship. There is some angst from outside forces. There are internal struggles from both main characters. There’s a timeline on their relationship that’s just looking overhead. There’s a bit of suspense and some alpha tendencies from the hero. Just all in all this is a great read. A fantastic combo of tropes/themes from Ms. Cates past work, but Eighty-One Nights still has its own new story and characters that you won’t be able to get enough of once you start.

All in all this is a great read. I can’t wait to see how Hutch and Cait’s story will complete. How things will pan out for some of the side characters, and if anything suspenseful will happen in book two!

As Cait and Max are settling into their roles together their attraction grows. He has many layers, and she finds him intense, but intriguing. He's possessive, and the way he makes her feel draws her in and also makes her want to run. As pretending starts to feel real, he makes it easy to forget that it isn't a real relationship. She loves the person she is with him, and he gives her incredible pleasure like nothing she's ever known. She can't get enough of him, and hopes she won't get burned. The end is near as their time together will soon be over. Will she be able to walk away after unexpectedly finding love?

Max finds himself wanting to spend every moment with Cait. His personal life is extremely complicated, but he's happy for the first time in a while. Will he say goodbye and risk heartbreak for them both, or fight for all the things he never thought he could have?

-When I look at her, I feel alive again. This woman has bewitched me. I want her.

-This is exactly what I needed in my life. She’s everything that I wanted.

-It’s as though she was made for me.

Eighty-One Nights is book one in the Beautiful Illusions Duet by Georgia Cates. It's a passionate lovers romance with a delicious Scotsman. It's sizzling hot, and ends on a bit of a mild cliffy. I can't wait for book two to get the conclusion to Max and Cait's love story!

Well this was my absolutely delightful, indulgent read of the month. The blurb sounded intriguing and the story more than delivered a delicious hit of steam and romance.

Feeling weighed down by debt and responsibility, Cait joins an exclusive dating service to help fund the final stages of her college degree. Her first assignment is a 3 month contract with a recently widowed man. He wants the full girlfriend experience, someone who will alleviate his loneliness over summer. He is willing to pay handsomely for it too.

Maxwell Hutcheson felt an instant connection with Lou (Cait) at the meet & greet. In fact, in a room full of very attractive women, Lou stood out in a such a way that he vowed to do whatever it took to secure an arrangement with her. After negotiating a contract that worked for both of them, the deal was done.

There may have been boundaries put in place by Lou but Maxwell plans to use his persuasive charm to loosen them up a bit. He hasn’t felt such an intense attraction and connection with another woman prior to Lou and he is keen to explore this.

Maxwell has such an incredibly sad and messed up back story. I’m not going to mention any of the details in my review because I don’t want to ruin the reading experience for anyone but he is basically stuck in a life cycle that he just can’t escape from. However, meeting Lou has changed everything for him. She is not just a great companion but she has so much warmth and compassion. Spending time with her has aroused a huge shift in his thinking and he doesn’t know if he will be able to walk away from her at the end of their arrangement.

Lou is going through a similar experience, when she first met Maxwell, he was dominating and oozing with sex appeal, once she got past all of that abrasive Scottish-ness she found there was a lot more to this broken man. She soon discovers that there are many layers to this man, weighed down with a huge sense of loyalty and responsibility.

Everything Maxwell does is to meet the needs and expectations of everyone else in his life. For once he would like to be selfish and have something of his own choosing. And he knows if he could choose it would be Lou. If he could keep her, he would. However, the contract expiry date is looming, the end is inevitable. And heart breaking…

OMG, I got so caught up in this story, I didn’t cover off the bedroom action but let me tell you there is plenty ☺ There was so much more in this story that I haven’t even touched on and I am counting down the days for the release of the next book, I need more!

Caitriona (Lou) has been waiting tables ever since her father bailed out to pay for her college education. She's trying to make ends meet but everything changes when her best friend/roommate introduces her to an escort service -- Inamorata. The thought of doing it fills Cait with apprehension at first but after giving it some thought she decided to do it.

Maxwell (Hutch) a rich widow who prefers to have a pretend girlfriend because his life is full of secrets and falling in love with someone is not an option for him. So, the arrangement set by Inamorata is perfect for something he needs and wants.

Maxwell and Cait's relationship hit it off after spending more time together. They became comfortable with each other's company and body that it felt almost real. What happens now when their "love affair" is over? Can they walk away without hurting each other?

Eighty-One Nights is such an enjoyable fusion of scenes and setting from the author's previous book and it was done beautifully if may say so. Maxwell and Cait's story is such an endearing and easy to fall in love too. It's an epic story in the making after that cliffy-ending. I'm anxiously waiting for its conclusion in days to come. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I just didn't enjoy this one. I never felt the chemistry between these characters and I struggled with the dialogue. I'm in the minority on this one which is great. It could just be me, not the book, but I struggled through it and felt pretty indifferent in the end.

Based on the reviews I saw so far, I’m in the minority here.

Oh well🤷🏾‍♀️, I found this book to be a carbon copy of the Beauty series written by this author and honestly that was a MUCH better version. This was super cheesy to me and annoying.

For instance, apparently Lou/ Cait is super judgmental and inexperienced, yet it took her friend less than a sec to talk her into becoming an escort. And Max is supposed to be so private, wealthy, and broken... but he quickly began taking risks with being seen in public with her.

And of course they fell in love quickly, but he remains guarded.

The formula for this story, was almost EXACTLY the same as the Beauty series. I’m quite disappointed in this one.

Sorry 🙁

I loved the cover and the blurb made me curious. Having only read this author once before I did not get the common themes she talked about, so to me, this was basically all new.

Cait or Lou, is like many, struggling to make ends meet and trying to work her way through school. She is about to embark on something new to make those ends meet, she just never expected it to be as an escort. Max or Hutch, is looking for the girlfriend experience. Recently widowed, in-laws on his back, no time for expectations or real-world dating he finds himself exactly what he is looking by using an escort.

Being Lou's first job she doesn't have a lot of experience but over the next eighty-one nights, she is going to make enough for this to be a one-time thing and hopefully leaving the situation in a better place. This is also Hutch's first time with an escort and he can't be more enamored by his selection. And so we begin a steamy journey of two people not looking for anything but perhaps finding it.

There were some parts of this that were a little slow and at first, these two lacked smoothness and chemistry. Eventually, they heated up in the chemistry department and then there was some family drama, ups and downs, sneaking around that added to the enjoyment of this book. Then there was the cliffhanger, that I was expecting and we just need to wait to see how or if this can all be worked out.

This is the story of a girl named lucky..

Totally kidding ..

This is the story of Maxwell Hutcheson a sexy and weathy Scotsman who is the product of a broken marriage and a broken heart. He seeks out Inamorata to provide him a girl friend experience because he is tired of grieveing for a cheating wife who died and feels her family will never let her stop grieving and he is trying to accept a baby that isn’t his. He is drowning in what society wants of him and adrift at sea without the love he feels he is allowed to have.
This is also the story of Cait who was abandoned by family and replaced. She is unwanted and the only one that has ever shown her love is her friend who introduces her to Inamorata as a way to pay for her college and get her out of the slums.
It was only supposed to be for 3 months. And sex was so far off the table this was going to be the easiest way to make ½ million dollars. But when a relationship is built on secrets, lies and half-truths… 3 months gets way more complicated than you would believe.

What kills me.. is the book JUST ENDS!! As in I swiped so many times and yelled at my kindle there wasn’t even a THE END or authors note.. I just was broken needing more words!

"Biology means nothing. Love means everything. The rest will fall into place."

It is with a heavy heart that I say I’m not very impressed with this book. I’ve battled with the story and was kind of hoping that by the next chapter I’ll change my mind, but I didn’t. Sadly there just wasn’t enough character development along the way to build the story around. It went stale that some chapters felt redundant, that I got kind of bored in the end.

Maxwell Hutcheson is a widower. He's lonely and betrayed by his late wife, and pressured by the people around him, he looks for a getaway in Inamorata. A high-end service that provides gentleman with the company of young ladies at the right price, Inamorata is as exclusive as it is discreet. Enter Caitriona Louden, an undergraduate American living in Scotland. Desperately trying to make ends meet and finish her education, Cait signed herself to Inamorata. Her first client; Maxwell Hutcheson. The story continues as Cait a.k.a 'Lou' and Hutch explored their relationship with each other under a contract for 81 days and 81 nights.

I don't have anything against a binding 'contract' relationship between two characters. I'm all for it. Sadly, Cait and Hutch's story didn't hold that much flame for me. I was not moved, I didn't swoon over their romantic galore, and I barely like Hutch's character. He comes off as too ignorant for his own good.

I will not criticize the author's writing because to be fair, it's very well-written. I think my conflict is with characters that she's trying to depict. I will not lie when I say that the first thing that interest me about a romance novel is the hero. So when he doesn't meet my expectation in some ways, I end up just being disappointed. Hutch has a tragic past, he's considerably older for Cait, and 'wounded'. He has the making of a swoon-worthy character. Unfortunately, I don't see that here.
He's extremely guarded, insecure, and too selfish. I get that he's been hurt before and that sucks. But he's constantly trying to 'dodge the bullet' with what he's left with after his wife's death. And he's trying to get lost in Cait, but also expecting her to 'take the pain' away. I'm sorry, but... that does not work for me.

Their whole relationship is 'flight' in the fight or flight situation. They were circling around the edge of this issue and not really resolving anything. But to be fair, it's only the first book of the duet. I don't know if it will change in the right direction in the next book. Or what kind of resolve will the author take. I hope that it will, at least, have more character development in it and not just about solving the romantic parts. Because if you're trying to make a relationship work, you also have to look the faults in yourself.

Going into this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. The author reveals upfront that this duet has some parts similar to her previous releases, her "favorite parts", so to speak. So, while I was worried that this book would be too similar to other books, I was also intrigued. Could she still pull off something fresh?

Thankfully, she did.
Although this book isn't what I typically read in romance now, it is certainly reminiscent of what I used to read and that made the reading experience a fun one. Like coming home. : )

Maxwell "Hutch" Hutchenson is a widow. And before you get concerned that his heart remains with his dead wife, have no fear. He is in fact holding back a lot of secrets with regards to his married life, and the state it was in prior to his wife, Mina's death. It is because of those secrets, and Hutch being a man with needs, that he seeks the companionship of a woman who doesn't expect a real relationship. That's where Inamorata comes in, an elite escort service, of sorts. And that is where he meets Caitriona "Lou" Louden.

The title of the book is based on their "Girlfriend Arrangement" which is to take place over eighty-one nights. On top of that, for specific reasons, the relationship must be kept a secret. Lou, being eager to get some financial stability, signs up with Inamorata and agrees to a "relationship" with Hutch relatively quickly. She puts up a pretty good fight about not wanting sex to be part of the arrangement, but ultimately, she's just kidding herself. She's just as attracted to Hutch as he is to her.

There is a lot of sex in this book, or at least more than my current reads. It is clear these two have a physical connection, but is there more? Given their arrangement, there shouldn't be. But with time, they get to know each other beyond the physical, which further complicates things.

On top of where this couple's story will lead, there are a number of factors which could destroy them.
- The son of the Inamorata's owner, Chambers, is a huge douche, and I feared what he might do to Caitriona, who he clearly has an interest in.
- Blair, Mina's sister, is a pest and I didn't trust her one bit. I actually think she may have a thing for Hutch, but that isn't confirmed at this point.
- The secrets Hutch is keeping could destroy him, beyond the relationship with Lou.

"Strong people don't have easy pasts, and the scars they carry prove that they are stronger than whatever tried to hurt them."

As expected, this installment ends in a cliffy. I hope I don't have to wait long for book two, I need closure!!

HOW IN THE WORLD DOES A WRITER PLAGIARIZE HERSELF??????

This is a new one. An author who basically plagiarizes her own work in a compilation story of different books she's already published and it's supposed to be all shiny and new just because she inserted new characters to do it. Yeah, that doesn't change the story any to change names and come up a combo story that reads like someone put bits of this and that into a blender. It's also pretty cheeky to charge $4.99 for something fans have basically already read, make it a cliffhanger duet, with another recycled book to come. Beyond disappointing, and it seems like a slap in the face to your fans, despite that disclaimer warning in the book's description. I guess this is what happens when an author can't come up with a fresh idea and re-publishes old stuff in a recycled way instead to make more money. Not for me, Ms. Cates, and I really like your work otherwise.

I didn’t mind at all that 81 nights had similarities with the author’s previous series.
It was captivating, very well developed, the characters so vivid that I could feel all their emotions and the plot was intriguing and fascinating. 💖

Georgia always gives me a story that had me reeling in the end. Her writing is flawless and captivating that it makes my heart skip a beat. This story was one like no other. I could not get enough and when I got to the end I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger but I didn't want one. I need books two like I need air to breath. This story is PHENOMENAL and when you read it you will not be able to put it down because there is so much emotions and push and pull between the main characters that you will be screaming at your kindle like I was.

Cait is low on funds and needs to pay her school off so she can continue going so her best friend comes up with the idea that she become an escort and get her money that way. She agrees and they set up a time and place to meet the person who does the escort matching. When Cait goes and she meets Maxwell their is instant chemistry but she holds it in because this is just for a short time not something forever. But unbeknownst to Cait Maxwell is having true feelings for her and wants to make her his.

What will happen to these two when the end of the contract comes? Will they be able to walk away or will they continue what was supposed to be fake but ends up real?

I went into the expecting a story of redemption or something along those lines but I actually got a sweet romance with a tinge of drama involved. It’s not a book that will make your heart wrenched because of the aggression but a book that makes your heart beat for the sweetness and the love between two people who are stranded due to their circumstances. Both Cait and Max has their fair share “shite” in their life and they both belong together with the happiness they deserve. Despite the cliffhanger thanks to the stupid in-laws, I really liked the slight drama-less book. I liked how the couple manages to get through every and really hope they will get through this burden and have their happily ever after.

The h is an ‘Inamorata’
?
Meaning..
“a person's female lover”

She becomes his girlfriend for money.
So she is a prostitute then?
Or maybe...
He is her sugar daddy?

Who cares.
Not going to read this.

Cait and Hutch's story is a love story unfolding. He needs companionship and Cait needs money for tuition. What better way than work for a company that does that. You have the option to decide if sex is part of the date. Cait is old fashioned and sex is a no go, and in walks Maxwell Hutcheson. He sees Cait and wants her upon sight but Cait is unsure but agrees to a date and that date is the beginning of eighty one days with this fabulous man. He is everything and soon she is falling in love with this man. He is perfect but what happens at the end of the contract, does he feel the same?! Wow I love this book and can't wait for book 2. This is my first book by this author and I have enjoyed her writing very much

Holy Crap! That's they only way I can think of to start my review! Eighty-One Nights has started a Georgia Cates obsession for me! The book had so much heart, and it was pretty hot too! Hutch was a dirty talking alpha, with a Scottish brogue! Can imagine anything sexier? Yah... Me either :D If you've read Cates before, you'll recognize elements from other books of hers, which was fun. I want book 2 ASAP!

This was my first book by Georgia Cates, and wow, it did not dissapoint! I absolutley loved the story line of this book! I quickly fell in love with the main characters Hutch and Lou. Hutch is the Perfect book boyfriend, sweet, and caring and attentive, and Lou is a strong heroine who has been through so much, but still loves fiercely. I loved watching Hutch and Lou's relationship grow and develop into something amazing as the story progressed. There were many sweet scenes, as well as sexy scenes that left you wanting more. Then, just when you think the book is going to be over and everyone will live happily ever after, Georgia throws you for a loop, and the book ends!! I cant wait until she releases part 2 of the duet. This book is a must read for 2019!

"Who doesn't long for someone to hold?
Who knows how to love you without being told?
Somebody tell me why I'm on my own
If there's a soulmate for everyone"

- Natasha Bedingfield - Soulmate

Georgia Cates wrote a beautiful love story that deprives of breath and stimulates all senses. Eighty-One Nights is an original tale about a feeling between the main characters that should never be born, but the heart wants what it wants. And in this case, the hearts of the characters want a soulmate who will fill the emptiness in their lives and heal them of loneliness.

Caitriona Louden (Lou) is an American girl living in Scotland and a student who barely makes ends meet. The girl's family situation made her live in a constant sense of abandonment. Her experiences with the opposite sex also didn’t boost her self-esteem. When, through her roommate, she finds out about an agency called Inamorata, she decides to take a chance that can improve her daily situation and pay for the education she wants to get. Maxwell Hutcheson (Hutch) is a widower who suffers from loneliness and who’s overwhelmed by the secrets that are suffocating in him. However, as a man with needs he decides to try to find a companionship in an exclusive agency called Inamorata. There he meets a beautiful Lou, with whom he wants to create the whole girlfriend experience. This is how Hutch and Lou enter the three-month arrangement. Passion explodes. The boundaries are blurred. Love is born. But is their mutual feelings able to protect this couple from the obstacles thrown at their feet? Besides, the contract was clear - after eighty-one days the arrangement ends. No matter what.

I could swoon over Hutch here all day but I feel so sorry for him! His situation is so complicated that there’s no easy way out. However, I think that he should be honest with everyone, thus he would save himself a lot of stress and he’d be happy without guilt. And this sexy Scotsman deserves his happy ending. Just like Lou, who finally found a person who gives her a sense of security and cares about her. These two are a match made in heaven! Their intimacy makes you blush and leaves you breathless.

Georgia Cates wrote an unconventional story which reading brought me so much pleasure. Beautiful Illusions is a duet, so Eighty-One Nights ends with a cliffhanger that made me want to scream. I can’t wait for the next part and I’m very excited that I’ll be able to get to know the continuation of Hutch and Lou's story.

Between student loans and bills, Caitriona “Lou” Louden works as a waitress trying to make ends meet when her friend tells her about a mysterious business named, Inamorata. It’s like a “girlfriend experience” for rich men and beautiful women. Maxwell “Hutch” Hutcheson gets dragged to a Inamorata party by his best mate. Two strangers brought together by circumstance. 3 months is what they have together. Can they keep to their arrangement or will their true feelings for one another finally get in the way? This is a breathtakingly beautiful story and I’m in love with Hutch and Lou! Who doesn’t love a sexy Scottish man!! A must read story!! “Love has a way of not caring about complicated circumstances.” No words spoken were more true than this” Told in dual POV; be prepared this ends in a cliffhanger.

Love to read Georgia Cates books. This series is an amalgam of many of her other books but still different in its own right. I could definitely tell from some of the scenes. However, I didn't mind it at all because I pretty much love all of her books.

Quotes & Faves:

When our kiss ends, I take her hand and pull her into the bedroom toward the bed. Sitting on the edge, I pull her hips toward me, and she stands between my legs. Her fingers play in my tousled hair. I love when she does that.

I melt against Hutch when he strokes my hair. Such a simple gesture yet so soothing. And so needed in this moment.

He stills and places a soft kiss against the bare skin of my shoulder. “You are precious to me.”

I love you, Lou. Even if I don’t say the words, can’t you feel how much I love you? Can’t you sense it in the way that I touch you? See it in the way that I look at you?

Lying on my side, I face him, and I cry. I cry like a damn baby. I cup my hands over my mouth, muffling the deep gasps when I feel like I’m losing my breath. He tosses in the bed and I cup my hands tighter, hoping that he won’t hear my sobbing.

If the beautiful cover doesn't draw you in, the blurb is sure to intrigue you just as much as it did me. Georgia has given us an unconventional relationship between two people who need it for many different reasons. Hutch is lacking companionship and intimacy, due to unfortunate circumstances in his life. Cait is a college student barely making it due to family circumstances but when her bestfriend makes her an offer she can't refuse her life takes a turn, whether for better or worse..... you'll have to read to find out. This book had me hanging on every word and whether I was smiling or hurting for these two broken souls I couldn't stop reading. If you've ever read a book by Georgia Cates you know how vested you become in the story and I can honestly say this is one that will leave you reeling long after you're done. This is a book I highly recommend but prepare yourself for one cliffy that will have you trying to turn pages that are not there because you need more of Hutch and Lou!

PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:

Eighty One Nights is a beautiful, romantic, serene and sexy story featuring a new concept of companionship. It's like a breath of fresh air, crispy and fun-tastic. Just when you thought the romance world is tad bit old now, comes a wonderful story by Georgia Cates. Doubly Narrated by hero-heroine, something that starts as an experiment or say "girlfriend experience" turns into a remarkable journey, eternally unending and incomplete. When you read this book, you'll feel lot of emotions but peace and calmness would be top, eventually. I love SCOTS, damn. This is my first book that features Scottish people but it's every single worth of my breathe.

Because you're mine. Because the thought of you being with another man makes me crazy. Because I needed to know if he's from your past or present. Because I wanted to tell him to fuck off. Take your pick.
-Max.

Look Out For:

❣  Our Beautiful Caitriona aka "Lou" is a feisty, smart, intelligent and down-to earth kind of woman who will surely win your hearts with her charming smile and breathtaking personality.

The truth is that Maxwell Hutcheson may not always be in my life, but he'll always be in my heart.
- Caitriona

❣ Throw in a Scottish widower Maxwell Hutcheson and you're in for a sexy package of manliness, masculinity, obsessiveness and of course, jealousy like an ice-cream topping.

❣ One of the fascinating things about this book is its unique approach on Dating and Earning. Paying Money for Companionship but Inamorata is far from that. The subject is delicate and well-written. There's no abuse or triggers of any sort. Just two people, blinded by lust, limited on time, finding their way in the newly held circumstances.

Maxwell is getting girlfriend experience from me. What he doesn't yet realize is that he in turn is giving me the boyfriend experience.
-Caitriona.

❣  Gah, Georgia surely has her way with the words engraved in the book. The metaphors and cynical emotions are a cherries on the cake.

❣  It's a story of a broken man who is finding his way back to love but there's something holding him back. He doesn't know what it is, himself. Yes, he has committed issues which may or may not affect his experience with Cait. Only time will tell so.

❣  Their chemistry is off the charts, literally. From the forehead kisses to scorching smooches, everything about this couple is FIERY. SPARKLY. UNDENIABLE. UNENDING.

❣  I was simply reading and going back and forth until the book ended suddenly. Yes, there will be a Book 2 with their conclusion.

Diamonds are beautiful. And they're also flawed. They don't crack but they do cut. Be a diamond, Caitriona.

~ 4.5 Be A Diamond Stars ~

What a unique writing idea and a unique storyline. I was totally intrigued when I saw this book was being released. I love all things Georgia Cates!!! And this book was no exception!!

This is a fairly quick read but that is only because once you start reading you won’t want to put it down. I only did because real life got in the way!!!

I loved the concept of a “story fusion”, taking places, scenes and themes from other Georgia Cates books and giving it a new spin with new material and new characters to love!! I did LOVE both Lou and Hutch. The only reason I didn’t give this a complete 5 stars was because it seemed a little too similar to her Beauty Series. Now don’t get me wrong it is NOT the same story, but I thought it was a little too close. Maybe that is just me because I had just read the Beauty Series not that long ago. With that said I think everyone should read this book.

I think I need to go back and read the Sin Series, Dear Agony and Indulge again to see what she pulled from those stories. I did love being back in Ireland with Lou and Hutch. That reminded me of the Sin Series.

Lou and Hutch’s love story is not a traditional one at all. They meet through an agency and what starts with a contract turns into something more. I loved watching both characters open themselves up to something more.

Eighty-One Nights is book 1 of this duet, so yes it does end with a cliffhanger. I didn’t find it to be that horrible, but if you are a reader who doesn’t like them then I would recommend waiting until both books are out before reading this book.

As always I thought the writing was effortless and the flow was perfect for this story. This story is told in Dual POV!!!

I would recommend this book to all romance readers!!! I look forward to seeing where Georgia takes Lou and Hutch’s story.

I was a tad hesitant on how much I would enjoy this one. I love that Georgia was upfront with how she came about this idea but I still have some small reservations that it would be pulled off well. And boy was I wrong.

Do not go into this with any pretenses on what you have read before. I can assure you, whatever you are thinking, it's not what happens in this book.

Max (Hutch) is a widow but his heart is not where one would think it is. Max is struggling to move forward in his life, but in ways no one can imagine. He holds a lot of secrets from everyone in his life and he has his reasons. But those secrets are also preventing him from being able to be himself in life.

Cait (Lou) is struggling to find a way for her last upcoming year in college. She's found herself in a bit a pinch with money until her best friend lets her on in a little secret. A secret that will forever change Cait's life - for better or worse.

Max and Cait meet in one of the most unusual ways but nothing about their lives is normal. So it's only fitting that they meet this way. Their "girlfriend arrangement" meets both their needs and they follow the expectations set for one another. While Cait has her reservations on certain things, they both come to agreement that they both can agree upon.

I have to say - this story was so much more than I had expected. And I loved every for it. I love the interactions, the secondary characters, the nuances they learn about one another and the agreement to always say what they are thinking. And the sex in this book - WOW!! There was a lot more than I had anticipated but it definitely did not hurt the overall plot of this story. If anything, it only help serve the purpose and the deepening of the relations between Max and Cait.

Since this is a duet, I knew to expect a cliffy. While it's definitely one I saw coming, I am still anxious to see what happens next. There are still some secrets that have not been spilt and some underlying problems that I am anxious to see play out.

Georgia Cates has definitely delivered on he promise of giving us a "story infusion" by blending the old with the new and giving us a story that we soon won't forget.

5 Star review of Eighty-One Nights (Beautiful Illusions Duet #1) by Georgia Cates
Georgia Cates is a new author to me. I was intrigued when I read the blurb and thought it was a great opportunity to dive in to a new author. Be prepared you need to wait for book two to get the conclusions to their story.
Maxwell (Hutch) Hutcheson and Lou (Cait) have a contract, it is not a conventional contract but one where Hutch has hired Lou to be his girlfriend for 3 months. Hutch is a recent widow and is struggling and he wants someone to ease his loneliness which is where Lou enters. She has joined the dating service to help with her tuition fees.
Neither of them expect the connection which springs to life when they meet initially. Of course like all contracts there are terms to be agreed upon and lines to be drawn.
I was drawn to both these characters and Ms.Cates style of writing drew me in and kept me entertained throughout the story.

Hutch is drawn to Lou in ways that have never happened before and he wants to pursue these feelings. His past is sad and heart breaking so for him this is a giant step; the connection between them is real and he knows it could lead to more.
What will happen when their contract ends? We will have to wait and see.
