Team-Based Learning Symposium 2024

The Team-Based Learning Symposium will take place on 18-19 July 2024 at The University of Manchester.

This symposium is a premier event for academics and e-learning technologists in higher education across the globe. The symposium is supported by the European Team Based Learning Collaborative (ETBLC), and is dedicated to exploring the latest innovations, research, and best practices in team-based learning (TBL).

Join us on 18-19 July 2024 for two days of insightful presentations, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance your understanding and application of TBL in various educational contexts.

 

Call for abstracts

We invite educators, researchers, and technologists to contribute to the symposium by submitting abstracts for presentations, workshops, and posters.

  • Submission opens: Monday, 18 March 2024.
  • Submission deadline: Monday, 15 April 2024.
  • Notification to submitters: 22 April – 24 April 2024.
  • Submits revised abstracts and bios: 24 April – 18 May 2024.

Keynote speakers

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speakers, Professor Larry Michaelson and Professor Judy Currey, who are distinguished leaders in the field of team-based learning.

Professor Larry Michaelson

Professor Larry Michaelson is a pioneering figure in the development of TBL. With a career spanning several decades, he has significantly contributed to the understanding and implementation of TBL in higher education.

His work focuses on creating engaging learning environments that enhance student critical thinking and teamwork skills. Professor Michaelson’s insights into effective team formation and assessment strategies have been instrumental in shaping TBL practices worldwide.

Professor Judy Currey

Professor Judy Currey is a renowned expert in TBL in the context of healthcare education. Her research has focused on how TBL can improve outcomes in nursing and medical education, fostering better teamwork, communication, and clinical reasoning among students.

Professor Currey’s innovative approaches to integrating TBL with simulation and other interactive learning technologies have garnered her international acclaim.
