FICEP/FISEC Games 2022 Review / FICEP/FISEC Spiele 2022 Rückblick

The FICEP/FISEC games ended with the finals and the closing ceremony on Thursday, July 28th. Some nations started their journey home early in the morning – some even extended their stay in Carinthia for a few days. Looking back, it remains to be said that it was a week full of emotions, joy and success.

FICEP/FISEC Games- zahlreiche Medaillen und bleibende Erinnerungen

Die diesjährigen FICEP/FISEC Spiele wurden in Klagenfurt von der SPORTUNION Kärnten als Gastgeber ausgerichtet. Von 23.-29.7. kämpften 15 Nationen in 6 Sportarten um Medaillen. Im Vordergrund standen die gemeinsamen Werte der Verbände, wie Fairness, Toleranz, Nächstenliebe, Inklusion und Integration.

Overview results from the finals In the boys' volleyball final, the Austrian athletes defeated the team from Flanders by 3 sets. The girls from Flanders won the gold medal in volleyball by beating Portugal. In the basketball final, the Austrians won the tournament for the boys and the team from Flanders for the girls! Closing Ceremony / Abschlusszeremonie

The FICEP/FISEC games ended with the farewell party yesterday. The closing ceremony included a slide show of the week's most impressive images, the fairness award was presented, and the medals in swimming and athletics were presented. It was a sensational week with a lot of experiences and impressions for the athletes from the 15 nations.

Integrative relay race / Integrativer Staffellauf

Today there was an integrative relay race in 4 x 100 m as part of the athletics event. Also present were the 2 Special Olympia athletes Karl-Martin from DSG Sport and Daniel from Caritas, who started as 4th runners in each of the 2 participating relay teams. Both teams went under 60 seconds so it

Sport is very important in our lives! Thus, I highly appreciate, that SPORTUNION Kärnten was selected as host and organizer of the FICEP-FISEC Summer Games 2022 in Klagenfurt. Klagenfurt is an open-minded host city in the south of Austria, which has widely been recognized for its beautiful landscape. The FICEP-FISEC Summer Games 2022 are a great opportunity: on the one hand for the young athletes, who will get the chance to compete with other young people under the conditions of a major international sport event, and, on the other hand, for the city of Klagenfurt as well as for the region of Carinthia and its reputation as popular destination for international sport events. I am sure, that we will be able to attend exciting, fair and safe competitions and that it will be an impressive experience for all of us!
