What can brown do for you?
by FOTG

Overview
Browns Creek Trail is a well maintained and popular trail that is highlighted by a waterfall and lake at its ending point. The trail intersects with the Colorado Trail and connects to Little Brown's Creek trail opening up opportunities for backpacking or summits of Mt. Antero. The trail to the falls is very popular and can be crowded even on weekdays. There are several opportunities for dispersed camping in the area and near the trailhead, as well as several campsites located along the trail after the first 1.5 miles.

Warning
You are not likely to find solitude on this trail.

Hike
Browns Creek Trail is well maintained and easy to follow. However, the trail spends more time high above the creek, or far from the creek on a bench than it does next to the perennial creek. The trail is a gentle climb from the start to the falls area and then a slightly steeper climb to the lake. Follow the well-signed trail to the waterfall at three miles, or continue on to Browns Lake, which is an additional three more miles and approximately 1500 more feet of elevation gained. Return the same way you came, or utilize the Colorado Trail and Wagon Wheel Loop Trail to return to TH.
