“Petrol retailers are operating on razor thin margins in a highly competitive market. Geopolitical events and rising fixed costs have contributed significantly to pump price increases, with retailers doing all they can to keep prices low for their customers.” said Gordon Balmer, Executive Director of the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA), commenting on the RAC’s monthly report of fuel prices.

“The surge in shoplifting incidents reaching the highest levels in two decades is deeply concerning for all forecourt operators. This, coupled with a further increase in fuel theft, presents a very real financial challenge.” said Gordon Balmer, Executive Director of the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) commenting on the rise in shoplifting offences as reported by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in data released today.

“While the situation in the Middle East could raise pump prices, petrol retailers are doing all they can to keep prices as low as possible for their customers. It is disappointing that while we are working with the relevant Government departments to lower the costs for motorists, we must constantly correct the narrative offered by some commentators in the media.” said Gordon Balmer, Executive Director of the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA).
