The devastating explosion of 04.08.2020 destroyed Beirut.

But now this event can be a part of the
city’s reconstruction.

The book “Stones of Beirut” documents the city’s unique culture – in stories, photographs and verse.
And “Stones of Beirut” was literally created from the rubble: It contains bits of debris produced by the port explosion.

Net proceeds from sales, as well as donations, were collected by the Stiftung stern e.V. and given to the Lebanese aid organization Beit el Baraka in Beirut.
The NGO has been active in the city
for years, and supports local people with various programs in education, medical
aid and, of course, reconstruction after
the explosion.
