Major improvement works took place between Glasgow and Barrhead.
From Saturday, 24 June until Thursday, 3 August 2023, major improvement works to install new overhead line equipment between Kennishead and Barrhead took place. This meant the railway line between Kennishead and Kilmarnock was closed, and no train services ran during this time.
Rail services resume on Friday, 4 August.
