Climate change is a significant issue that requires urgent action. In response to the Climate and Biodiversity Emergencies declared by Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon Councils, we have adopted the Plymouth and South West Devon Climate Emergency Planning Statement. 

The Climate Emergency Planning Statement sets out exactly what all new development should do to make sure that it can mitigate for, and adapt to, the challenges of climate change. This is for anyone submitting a planning application, whether it is for an extension to their home, new employment development or new homes. It will apply to all planning applications submitted from 1 December 2022.
