We explore how to build the software that powers networked embedded sensors and actuators, that is, the foundation of the emerging “Internet of Things”. To this end, our research combines theories, designs, implementations, and real deployments.

NESLab started in 2016 as part of the advanced software architectures research line at the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria of Politecnico di Milano and runs also thanks to the support of Google, Intel, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, STMicroelectronics, and Vodafone.

We have strong ties with the RI.SE Research Institutes of Sweden and are proud of our international collaborations, including Uppsala University (Sweden), ETH Zurich (Switzerland), LUMS (Pakistan), TU Delft (the Netherlands), TU Dresden (Germany), University of Virginia (US), and Warwick University (UK), which allow students to spend periods abroad.
