The house in SE London Shock with the 'mountain' design at the back and the ugliest kitchen I have ever seen in my life, flipping heck, 'the speckled look'.

The presenter doesn't do it for me though.

Urgh that was awful wasn’t it.

I thought the other house owners who did the big glass extension are going to be slowly driven mental by aunties “forecourt” comment though! As soon as she said it we both went oh yeah it does look like it should have 4 petrol pumps in there

I couldn't believe the glass alone cost £179k just for the extension, total madness.

Clearly being a professional gambler and school teacher pays well Wink

Neither of the two projects were anything to write home about, the rooms in the ski slope one were just so unpractical and the exterior is not one bit attractive.

It’s good property porn so I’ll probably watch again but I wasn’t overly impressed. Maybe next week when it’s all underground extensions will be better? Tinea tempa had some outfits worth discussing and he didn’t annoy me like that George bloke who is sometimes on the property programs.

Loved the presenter - he was a breath of fresh air!

The designs were hilarious, all that money for an extension and you have nowhere to put your clothes, and have to traipse downstairs for a wee in the night. And the other one did just need some petrol pumps!
It was a hoot!

I thought Tinie Tempah made a really great presenter....but agree that both extensions were pretty hideous considering the cost 😮

The triangular design of the Herefordshire one was sooo impractical - why would you want rooms that are so difficult to furnish and no bathroom facilities on the same floor as your bedroom?

As for the £1.1 million extension - I couldn't decide if it was more filling station or crematorium, lol 😂 Either way it was truly awful!

Tinie's jumper at the end was very nice, though 😄

Will definitely carry on watching for the property porn as it fills a Kevin McCloud sized gap!

I thought Tinie was a breath of fresh air. I'm sick of pompous, white, middle-aged men presenting shows like this.

Didn't like any of them if I'm honest. Didn't the woman who did the ski-slope one have 9 DGC? They didn't have enough room for the two of them, never mind visiting family.

I liked the presenter. But I must admit I lost focus on the house with his croissant? Shirt. It's all I could focus in on 🤣.

The glass extension was hideous. Looked like a shop or car show room. I bet its freezing too. The other ski slope was nice but my God for too small. If you dont know where to fit in the furniture why even build another sitting room?

I liked the Croissants although DH as half watching and thought I was joking when I'd said he was wearing Croissants Grin

Dont get wrong, I loved that shirt. But it was the "nice top. Wait is that a military badge? What it's a croissant? Wtf are the other things then? I cant make them out. Is that a biscuit? Oh I didnt hear what they said and they on the other house now....." type moment.

To be fair my mind does this a lot. Especially in training at work. I'm thinking about what to eat for dinner then asked a question by the trainer. Luckily I'm a programmer so you just have a standard question to fire back that no one ever knows. I missed the forecourt comment. I bet it was in the shirt scene 🤣

I also liked Tinie (he's lost the Tempah now I think) and loved his style.

But he needs to stop saying geometry / geometric.

I honestly didn't notice. Is this a series or a one off? If it's a series you know that just going to drive me batty now don't you? Grin

Think it was C4 so should be on demand. I like watching houses houses when I do my ironing, current favourite is the Great House Giveaway Smile

I prefer other home improvement shows.
For some reason I didn't enjoy episode 1.
It might just be me.
I was tired too, watching it so it may have been that.
I'll watch episode 2 and see how that goes.

Didn't know Tinie was developing property at the age of 22!

He's good at presenting and if he's got a background in property at least he knows what he's talking about.

I thought this episode was much better than the first one, ridiculous amounts of money though.

We’re watching it as we were intrigued why Tinie Tempah was presenting.

This £28 million property is nuts!

I'm still watching - mostly for the ridiculously luxe property porn and a little bit for Tinie who is surprisingly knowledgeable and extremely likeable. Also have some George Clarke saved up for later - feeling quite spoilt!

I liked the passive house extension. The glass one on the mansion was something else though! I thought the one last week with the upside arches was not very nice.

is it finished now ?

I couldn't take to Tinie at all, couldn't figure out why and then realised its because he is very stilted when he is narrating, especially when narrating in front of the camera, he is obviously reading a script and the verbiage is so at odds with him.

However, he comes across lovely and natural and funny, when he is chatting with the owners, much more natural and easy. I hope they can capitalise on that for the next series, if there is one.

I couldn’t get into it this week, it felt like it was jumping around too much between different projects. I am starting to really like the presenter though and some of the snippets of other extensions are great property porn. it does seem a bit London centric though but I guess that’s partly due to the nature of property in London and needing to maximise space more than other parts of the country.

Yes, this week's was a bit messy - I think because they were only following 1 build instead of 2 so had to fill with other bits and bobs.

I liked the programme though, I like Tinie as an alternative to the usual pretentious presenters. It does sound like he's reading someone else's words at times, but he's great with the owners.

The music they play when they reveal the 'transformation' gets on my nerves though - it's the same sort of thing on all these programmes.

Report
Chocolatericecakes · 12/11/2021 10:40

I love how Tinie really calls it what it is - some wealthy people overspending on shiny extensions just because they can. It's great property porn.
Kevin McLeod talks the same thing up to be some kind of selfless artistic endeavour or fantastic triumph over adversity, which it usually isn't.
Still love Kevin though!
