General Philosophy

Access2Science is devoted to papers and links that provide practicalinformation about access to STEM. The site is not a place for research articles - there are many journals for such purposes, but there are no journals devoted to the practical needs of people with print disabilities to access STEM.

Articles and suggestions for linking to other information are welcome if they are current and pertain to the topic of this site. Editors may require editorial changes, but they will not reject any article that meets these criteria. The editors encourage submission from companies describing how to use their STEM access products, from non-profits who offer STEM access technologies and methodologies of practical use, and from anyone who just wants to make useful practical STEM access information available. It is intended that this site be kept up-to-date, but the volunteers who run it do not always succeed. Pointing out outdated information that needs to be removed or about new information that is not presently linked will be welcomed. The editors will remove articles that are outdated but will first request that authors update them.

Submission of Articles

Articles or suggestions for links to other information may be submitted to any editor. All articles should be in English, although editors can be persuaded on occasion that it is not sensible if the article concerns something very specific to a non-English language. We encourage submission of articles in additional languages and voluntary translations of existing articles, even if they are only machine translations, by Google for example.

Articles may be submitted in any of the following formats:

Other materials in any appropriate format may be included in the Access2Science site and linked to an article. Editors and other volunteers will convert articles into HTML or XHTML for display on the site. Images should be described adequately in a separate document, and these descriptions will either be inserted as ALT text or as separately linked information at the discretion of the editors. Editors suggest that authors authorize publication on this site under the Creative Commons copyright.
