Unity and Brutus Monroe Blog Hop

Good evening! This post is part of a fun hop with Unity Stamp Company to celebrate a great new collection of backgrounds as part of a collaboration with Brutus Monroe - you can find them all HERE! There are 4 $100 prize packs up for grabs on this blog hop - AND, we are also having an Instagram Hop with giveaways as well!

My cards tonight feature the Spilled Paint background - there would have been a video, but...technical difficulties, you know? :)

I used a variety of colored cardstock, and heat embossed the Spilled Paint Background in simple clear embossing for a neutral but fun background, then die cut them first with a rectangle die, then used a circle die to cut out the centers.

I then filled in the centers of them with a sentiment and adorable images from another new release, Woodland Festivities - part of the adorable new line from Lisa Glanz! I colored them all up with just a few simple neutral colors, added some glittery snow under them each, then mounted the front frames over the top with foam adhesive on soft gray cardbases. Here is a closer look at each color:

Which color is your favorite? I think I'm a bit partial to the blue, but so hard to choose!

Here is the entire blog hop line-up so you don't get lost along the way:

Winter in July - Unity Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for a wintery blog hop with Unity Stamp Company to celebrate some brand new releases! Woohoo!! As always, there are prizes up for grabs, and tons of inspiration as well! I have two simple cards I made using new releases to share tonight:

First up - I love this new Angie Girl called Caitlyn Girl! I can't help but want to add onto the sentiment Olaf's line from Frozen - "Some people are worth melting for!"

A couple days ago I picked up my first watercolor pencils - kind of hard to believe I didn't have a set before this! Well...I am officially in love! These two cards were my first time using them, and they are SOOO fun to play with!

I also used them on this second card - all the scarfs in rainbow order, or course! This stamp set uses the new stamp set called Unique:

For this one I added some details with a white gel pen once it dried.

They are both mounted on foam on the cardbase - just a bit of dimension and interest.

Unity 10th Birthday Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for this month's Unity monthly Blog Hop - and this month is extra special as Unity is celebrating their 10th BIRTHDAY!!!

I have two cards using some of the many fabulous new releases! Woohoo!!! First up - one of my favorite flowers is the peony - so when I saw Angie Blom doodling this, I was SOOOO hoping it would become a stamp. Imagine my delight when I saw it in the new releases! Couldn't WAIT to color it up! It is called You Are Forever Beautiful:

Someday soon I should maybe do a video for this card - I actually used COPIC markers to color this - not watercolors! I used a pink, yellow, orange, and coral color and colored them up using THIS image on Pinterest as my inspiration:

My coloring ended up a bit more on the orange side, but I was really happy with how they came out!

I added some gold splatters with my Starry Colors Palette, and a sentiment from the July 2016 Sentiment Kit Let Your Wishes Fly, heat embossed in gold on a piece of black cardstock. Before I adhered that down, I added a twist of gold thread underneath.

I also couldn't resist using the new Focus on the Things stamp set - another gorgeous Angie Blom image!

For this one I actually did use watercolors - my Zig watercolor brushes - and blended with a waterbrush.

I added some Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper underneath, and a couple stickers to embellish and finish this card off!

Set of Simple Watercolor Cards - Unity Blog Hop

Good evening! It's time for this month's Unity monthly Blog Hop - lots of fun new releases to celebrate, some fabulous sales, and of course great giveaways as well! I used two of the new releases to make a few simple watercolor cards to share:

Here is a closer look at each card - these first two use the new All Cylinders and are colored with my Zig markers. Even though it doesn't show very well in the photos, I also coated them with a heavy coat of Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen - very similar to a Wink of Stella pen and with lots of sparkle!

These second two I colored with my Gansai Tambai watercolors:

I love how simple and easy watercolors are - and how they come out different every single time! So relaxing and fun!

Unity Hip Hop - November 2017

Hello! Today is the monthly Unity Hip Hop - and also start of the Brown Thursday Sale! The DT is hopping along with inspiration, Quick Tip videos, and a look at some of the new releases to inspire you. There are also (of course!) - prizes!!! This would also be a great opportunity to check out the NEW Unity Blog and Website - it is beautiful!

Here is the Quick Tip video I made for this card - showing how to get a dimensional popped up sentiment - hard to see in photos, but such a fun cool effect! I used the new and beautiful Warmest Wishes stamp set:

I watercolored this beautiful image, then had fun die cutting a word die out of the center, popping it up on Fun Foam, and covering it with a couple coats of Tonic Crystal Glaze (very similar to Glossy Accents - lots of beautiful shine!). Just a fun little way to add a little something extra to a card!

Here is the entire blog hop line-up...make sure and hop along and leave comments at every stop to have a chance to win this month's prize!
