Book Review: Flexible Standards

Image
After her husband left her for his secretary, Isla needs a change of scenery. With her best friend inviting her to move to Las Vegas, and securing her a job as a librarian, there’s no time like the present to start fresh, beginning with her friend’s bachelorette party. While at the party, Isla retreats to a small casino bar, avoiding the festivities. Only, her night of solitude comes to an end when she meets Sam—an incredibly attractive and smooth-talking Brit who enjoys an evening of reading, more than a night on the town. Though they are otherwise an unlikely pair, Sam helps Isla regain the confidence she lost in her past relationship… one orgasm at a time. Flexible Standards is a deliciously spicy eroticom novella, intended for mature audiences. Just because it's cute and funny at times, doesn't mean you should forget to check your content warnings… My Review Another fast and spicy read form Irene. I can't get enough of her books. As soon as a new one comes out, I am i

Book Review: Hunt Me

I’m at a bar trying to poison a mark like the professional I am when I see him. Straight from Tartarus, they say the shadow dragon called Legion has slayed entire armies single-handedly, and the intense way he looks at me suggests every rumor I’ve heard about him is true. I should be terrified. Instead, I’m drawn like a moth to a flame. The moment he touches me, everything changes. Suddenly, my skin is the poison. One touch is enough to kill a man, which is exactly what I do before I realize what Legion has done to me. I vow to make him pay. The pull I feel toward him is a beacon—or a leash—but he’s not the easy mark I expected. To my utter horror, I go from hunter to captive. If I want to earn my freedom, I’ll have to give him the one thing he demands: me. Hunt Me is a spicy standalone romantasy set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book is a guaranteed happily ever after with a satisfying ending and no cliffhangers. Perfect for fans of Immortals After Dark, Black Da

Book Review: Zeb

Two families – One follows the letter of the law, and the other… doesn’t. But somehow, they’ve made it work. Neighbors and friends. Bound by past generations of honor, trust, and even love. ~~~ Mahina and Zeb's epic love story continues in Book Two!  My Review If you were missing the spice from Mahina, you can be assured that you will get your fill of it in this book! I mean, chapter one featured the first of many smexy scenes between Mahina and Zeb. Nalani took me on an emotional and scorching, hot ride with this duet! I loved Zeb's nickname for Mahina "Petal". Every time that he called her that, I swooned. I truly could not get enough of these two together. Zeb oozed touch her and d!e vibes! The aftercare scene was touching and hot. A man who pleasures his woman and cares for her afterwards...yes, please.  This may be the end of this duet, but readers may not have seen the last of these two as Mahina's sister, Levi gets her own story next.

Book Review: Just This Once

Whip King cannot be the man for me. Cocky, pierced firefighters are perfect for late-night rom-coms, but in real life they’re nothing but trouble. Especially when you find out they work for your dad—after you’ve already slept with them. Moving to my parents’ small town was supposed to be the fresh start I was looking for. When a disastrous Valentine’s Day leads to an unexpected encounter with a sexy stranger, and ends with the hottest night of my life, I didn’t think I would ever see Whip again. Imagine my surprise when one of my sixth-grade students has a medical emergency and it’s Whip who shows up, looking hot as hell, to save the day. I should be embarrassed at how we left things, but instead I’m furious he doesn’t seem to remember me. So I scrape my pride off the floor, lift my chin, and pretend there’s nothing between us. But that can last only so long. Stolen glances melt into forbidden touches, and once we give in to temptation, we can’t keep our hands off each other. Nothing

Book Review: Undeclared Heir

Image
What would happen if you woke up as the main character in your favourite book? Maybe not a dark romance story. Perhaps something a little less unalivey? A dash less stalkery? But still has a red flag book boyfriend… Anna is living her best life as the heroine from the Regency novel she’s reading. Trapped in the book, she risks destroying the story she adores if she falls for James, the prince with plans to become King. Unable to enjoy her alternate reality, she must keep her wits about her—things aren’t always as they seem. Undeclared Heir is Act 1 in the Expect the Unexpected series, ending on a cliffhanger. It is not intended to be read as a stand-alone. While it is a romantic parody, don’t forget to check your CWs! My Review This novella is another great example of Irene's writing. If you are already a fan like me or new to the author, you will enjoy this quick read. Although be warned as this book does end on a cliffhanger. I need the next one now as I need to know what happe
