Story
Get involved with one of our exciting fundraising ideas during National School Sports Week.
• Sports Star Friday:
As part of the week-long celebration, we're thrilled to welcome back Sports Star Friday, building on last year's success. On this sporty themed special day on Friday 21 June participants are encouraged to dress up as their favourite sporting heroes or don their sports wear and donate to participate while engaging in fun activities.
• 10K Steps challenge:
Challenge individuals or teams to reach a goal of 10,000 steps a day for the week!
• 60-Second challenges:
Organise a series of quick, fun challenges that individuals or teams can complete in just 60 seconds each. Some Youth Sport Trust ideas can be found here: https://www.youthsporttrust.org/free-resources-list/school-support-free-resources-list/60-second-physical-activity-challenges
• Sports day:
Host a sports day celebrating nostalgic competition including the egg and spoon and potato sack races! Sell tickets for spectators to raise additional funds.
• Obstacle course challenge:
Set up an obstacle course and invite participants to navigate through it as quickly as possible. Participants can raise funds by collecting a registration fee.
• Sports equipment sale:
Collect pre loved sports equipment from pupils, parents, colleagues, or community members and host a sale. Proceeds can go towards Youth Sport Trust programmes.
• Sports quiz:
Host a sports-themed quiz where teams compete to answer questions about sports history, athletes, and rules. Charge an entry fee for teams to participate.
• Sport-inspired cake sale:
Bake and sell sports-themed treats such as cookies decorated like footballs, cupcakes with icing in team colours, or home-made energy bars for participants and spectators to enjoy during the event.
By taking part, you're not just promoting physical activity - you're investing in the future of our young people and fostering a culture of health and wellbeing. There are countless ways to get involved, get active, show your support and make a difference.
