Mountain Desire

Rate this book
When Dr. Samantha Smyth confuses the town's sexy mechanic for a patient, she gets a lesson she'll never forget...
Being a child genius might have made Sam a doctor by twenty-two, but she's learned nothing about men. Her world is scalpels and scrubs, not silk and seduction. Sam is used to receiving attention for her brain, not her body, but when Mac and Hardin find out she needs tutoring between the sheets, they volunteer for the job. They're diligent in their task, ensuring she's an expert in pleasure... with them. Only them.

Mac knows he is nothing the beautiful doctor deserves. He works with his hands. He's rough around the edges, tattooed and older, but he wants her anyway. He and his best friend, Hardin, have spent years searching for a woman they can claim together. Hardin likes the quiet life and spends more time with horses than humans, which suits him just fine. But one taste of Sam and it's not just passion they feel for their woman. It's protectiveness. Possession.

When they discover Sam might be targeted by a murderer on the loose, they won't let anything take her away. And their protective instinct reaches a new level when Hardin discovers he might just be related to the killer.

Mountain Desire is the same quick steamy goodness I've come to expect every time from Vanessa Vale, but with a twist. There's always a different twist to these stories to keep things interesting.

This time we had the young, inexperienced doctor with the two hot mechanics. I liked that while the leading lady was young and sexually inexperienced, she was smart and strong as well. And you could understand the inexperienced part. It wasn't far-fetched.

Mac and Hardin both brought their own twists to the story. Very interesting twists. All in all I enjoyed the way it all came together.

These books are like a nice palate cleanser, well-written and attention holding, between longer or meatier books. I definitely would recommend to fellow MFM readers who like a bit of suspense and intrigue to their romance.

This was book 3 in the "Wild Mountain Men" series. This was a short quick audio book that I thought was pretty good. Dr. Samantha Smyth knows about medicine and nothing about men so. When Mac and Hardin find out she needs tutoring between the sheets, they volunteer for the job. They begin catching feelings and when they learn that Sam is the target of a murderer they will do anything to protect her. This short quick read was pretty good. I loved the narrator of this book.

EITHER YOU LET US IN, OR YOU LET US GO

Book three in the Wild Mountain Men series adds several new people, including the three main people, new to town, Dr. Samantha Smyth, then friends, Mac and Hardin. While this story might be read as a stand-alone, it will have many people from the previous two books, and also plenty of mention of the unsolved murder of Erin Mills--an ongoing case in Cutthroat.

Dr. Sam Smyth picked the area of Cutthroat to practice medicine from a visit to the area with her parents when she was younger. It is known for its resorts and skiing, and she decided it was a good place to live and work. She has an apartment and works long hours at the hospital between the ER and the operating room. She really doesn’t have friends, doesn’t date, and is dealing with one of the doctors who has asked her out numerous times and has repeatedly made advances, which HR has ignored.

Mac and Hardin will be called to the hospital by security for a tow when one of the doctor's cars has a flat. Sam will be sent to see a patient in the ER for a prostate exam and encounter Mac—and this scene had me laughing out loud. But when all is straightened up, she will learn about her tire, and that it wasn’t just flat but slashed. Sam isn’t used to people being helpful or doing the right thing, but when they come to her defense over a pushy coworker, she is surprised.

“She slayed me. Done. Dead. She was actually surprised I’d help her. Hadn’t anyone stood up for her before? Yeah, she needed a guiding hand, and we were going to give it to her. And more.”

From the moment Mac and Hardin see Dr. Sam, they both know she is the one, the one they have been waiting for, the one to share between them. The only issue, this young doctor has a naïve innocence about her, and that is surprising. Then to verify that this beauty is a virgin, and now she wants them has them with mixed emotions. After dinner out, she has had too much to drink, and when they have her because they will have her, they want her completely sober.

When these three do get together, they allow Sam to make the moves, and she surprises them. These three have great chemistry together, no judgments, no demands, just plenty of sizzling passion and pleasure.

“It’s more than biological, baby. It’s because it’s right.”

“They had been holding back. This was wild and dark, completely naughty. Mac began to talk then. Dirty talk, which only made me get wetter, and I could hear it.”

The story has mystery, suspense, danger, angst, anger, passion, a stalker, and the unsolved murder case of Erin Mills. When her apartment has been broken into, the detectives are the ones to make the connection that she favors the late Erin Mills? Could she now be the target of a murderer? How will Mac and Hardin keep her safe? What happens when they discover who has been harassing her at work? Will words of warning steer him away—or make him more dangerous?

The story is a continuation of the murder case and the beginning of a new triad relationship and does end on another cliffhanger. There are explicit sex scenes that include ménage and mild spanking. If you are not already on Ms. Vanessa Vales’ newsletter list, you need to take advantage and join—there are bonus scenes for each book in her newsletter.

Vanessa Vale is becoming one of my go to authors when I need something a little different...and by different I mean really steamy with a suspenseful story! I am surprised my kindle hasn’t melted from all the heat from her books!

Book 3 in the series and we have all the familiar characters, but this book focuses on Sam, Mac and Hardin. I will say that one of my least fave tropes is the innocent virgin instantly finds her sexual footing with the alpha males. However, in this case it worked! I actually agreed with the decision to have Sam be a little more innocent because it worked with her character. Sam a Doctor at 22, is to smart for her own good. But because of her intelligence she has always been an outsider. That is until Mac and Hardin come into the picture.

This book has many surprises for being shorter. I also would not recommend reading this without reading the other two books. Even though this book focuses on this trio, there is an underlying arc from previous books. Mac and Hardin were fantastic and so protective. The drama that the three have to get through this book kept me on the edge of my seat.

I don’t want to spoil, what I will say is I have enjoyed the heck out of all the books in this series and I can’t wait for book 📖 4! I definitely recommend and will keep reading as long as Vanessa Vale writes them!

Oh boy! This book started with a scene that was so awkward that I laughed until I cried! It was just a foreshadowing of how much I'd enjoy this book! My emotions ran the gamut while reading, from hilarity, to shock, surprise, and even a little anger. There was so much packed into this story, I'm not sure where to start!

Sam is a doctor, but she is also a genius! Breezing through school, then college and med school, she missed so many of the life experiences someone her age has. It makes her a very naive person, but also seems to have made her more open to accepting her own desires and wants. Mac and Hardin know what they want, they just have to figure out how to make her theirs, and then how to keep her from being ripped away from them.

I love a little mystery and excitement with my romance, and this book has all of that, and more. I love how open Sam is, and how accepting of her eccentricities the guys are. The heat between them is combustible, and then just gets hotter! I love how there is a story line to each book in the series, but also a mystery that is continued through out. Definitely makes the anticipation for the next book sweeter!

Samantha is a young doctor who everyone seems to be giving a hard time because of her age (21). It's an awkward situation that has her meeting Mac. She thought he was a patient there for a prostate exam and had him strip down. He went along with it and then told her that he was the mechanic to fix her flat tire. Eventually, she meets up with Mac and meets Harden. She already likes them both but admits she is a virgin. This is the reason she is having issues at work because one of the doctors keeps harassing her, and HR won't do anything about it. She goes ho.e to find it broken into and goes straight to Mac and Harden who fuck her in the shop. Then shit goes bad, and she ends up leaving feeling like she messed up by bringing up things like this afterward. It really did seem like she used them for sex. Anyways shortly after that, we find out the doctor harassing Sam is actually Harden's brother, and also might be the killer of Erin (book 1). In the end, Harden and Mac are able to find her and make sure the doctor gets arrested for kidnapping. I really don't think he killed Erin, though. He doesn't really like getting his hands dirty unless he gets to stick his dick in it. I'm glad Harden beat his ass. I will definitely be finishing this series.

Mountain Desire by Vanessa Vale was a fast paced read for me…basically I read it in one sitting. The characters Samantha, Max and Hardin flow together quite well and there is definitely a lot of passion in this book!

Samantha is a child prodigy, working as a surgeon and not really having any interpersonal skills she mistakes Max for a patient and hilarious thing happen. From there she is thrown into a world-wind romance with Max and his best friend Hardin (who certainly looks like a lumberjack in my mind), but not everything is smooth sailing. Not only is Samantha a virgin, but she is also being targeted by someone who wants to hurt her, but her men aren’t going to let anything happen!

This was a fast paced read which came to a conclusion pretty quickly. I would have liked to have read more about the characters building a relationship as they got together/stayed together really quickly and didn’t seem to know much about each other. Overall, scenes between characters were a hot but I still felt like I was left wanting more but that’s good in a way as it makes me want to read more by this author. There is a little bit of suspense which keeps you moving along with the book and I liked that Sam was geeky and awkward throughout the whole novel and both Max and Hardin found it delightful. A good quick, steamy read.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊

Mountain Desire by Vanessa Vale is book number three in the Wild Mountain Men series , it is an exciting story with plenty of heat and passion, suspense and some danger. I absolutely enjoyed this story it will have you fanning yourself and sitting on the edge of your seat. The characters are well written, they are Dr. Samantha Smyth the smart beautiful young doctor with little to no experience with men. Then you have Mac a local mechanic who appears to be a bit rough and rugged but oh so sexy and his best friend and partner Hardin who is oh so hot. When they all meet you can feel the chemistry and heat and that is just the start to one exciting story. I absolutely loved these characters and for me this was a great storyline. I absolutely recommend this great book, if you love two hot alpha men and one woman who brings out there protective side this is definitely the story for you.

Mountain Desire by Vanessa Vale is book three in the Wild Mountain Men series. This is Samantha, Max and Hardin's story.
Sam is this virgin genius ER doctor surgeon whose a virgin at 22. She's never been looked at as a woman but after a chance encounter with the town mechanics Mac and Hardin, Sam’s finally getting the attention she's due as a woman, rather than as a genius.
Mac and Hardin know that Dr. Sam is the woman for them with just one glance. They plan to give her all the love, attention, energy and passion that she can handle and then some. But someone decides that they don't want them to. Someone is harrassing and threatening Sam. But who is it ?? The plot is fantastic and the chemistry between the 3 main characters while they try to find out who the murderer is is great. It's a great romantic suspense read.

*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.

HOLY MOTHER OF OMG!!!!!!! I knew I was going to love the mechanic, but daaaaaang!!!!

Sam is the new local doctor in town. Ok, she's more than that. She's actually a crazy small woman who not only went to Harvard at fourteen, she's finished medical school and became a surgical doctor before the age of twenty three. Oh...and have I mentioned she's a virgin? Yep. Seems like all those years studying and working didn't do much for her social status. So when she walks in to a hospital room to see a patient, seeing a hunk of a man wasn't what she was expecting. Nor was everything that happens after that one moment.

Mac is the local mechanic and runs the shop with his best friend Hardin. When Mac gets a call to fix a flat tire for the local doc, he's completely surprised to meet Sam who he thought was a man. Add in the fact that she's gorgeous and everything he's been looking for and he's a goner. Time to get Hardin on board.

The chemistry between these three is AWESOME!!! I absolutely loved the gentle hands they possessed for Sam. I think that these gentle giants are my favorites so far in the series. But if you've been following this series then you know that the underlining mystery is "who killed Erin" (read the first book). So to say that this book is all about the chemistry, you'd be mistaken. Of course there is some drama and boy of boy is it good.

Bring on the next one baby!!! I can't get enough of these Mountain Men!!!

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
A mistaken identity case leads Sam into a very sexy adventure.
Mac was there to fix a Sam's car tire.
Sam thought that Mac was there for a prostate exam.
One look at Sam, and Mac knew that she was the one for him and his friend Hardin.
However, someone is stalking Sam.
Not to worry, Mac + Hardin will not let anything happen to Sam
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Sweet, smart, sexy, lonely Sam was just keeping to her normal busy work life as a doctor. She made an error with what she thought was a patient. Mac was just humoring the sweet sexy doctor. Then bring in Hardin and you got chemistry that is throwing out major sparks between the three of them. Add in some sexy scenes. A little bit of mystery and danger and you have a fantastic book! I love this series and I love Vanessa Vale's writing. Her books always hook me from the first page and hold me through the entire book. I can never put one of her books down and this book was no different. I can't wait for the next in this series. Still don't know who killed Erin!

Holy Wow this book was absolutely incredible!  I honestly couldn't put it down! Dr. Samantha Smyth, is a young child genius who is now a ER surgeon. She's sweet, naive, and inexperienced when it comes to romance. Mac is a local mechanic and runs the shop with his friend Hardin, these two are almost too good to be true. After meeting Sam, Mac and Hardin know that she's the one for them. The connection and chemistry between these three is palpable! This is a fast paced read, with intrigue, mystery, and characters you will love. I definitely enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait for the next book.

Not the kind of checkup he was looking for
This author sure has a way with words. She took a case of mistaken identity and created it into this relationship that will endure. Thank goodness since there is a stalker on the loose. But with two rough and tumble men to see to her every need Sam couldn’t be safer. I enjoyed watching these three find their way together and I really enjoyed the touch of mystery and danger to the story. I can’t wait to see what the author brings us next.

★ Such a sexy meet-cute/ Another smoking addition this series★

—>>> Meeting Dr Samantha Smyth was quite timely for Mac, aside from them getting their wires crossed when they first meet, because the reason he was at the hospital in the first place was to help her with her tires. But it is soon apparent that he and his best friend Hardin would be perfectly willing to pull out all the stops to service her any way she needs … and are just as willing to step up when it is clear she is being targeted by someone in town, someone intent on doing her harm.

Another smoking addition to this Mountain Desire series!

Mountain Desire is my favorite thus far in the Wild Mountain Men series. I am still fanning myself after reading Sam, Mac and Hardin's story. Their story is intense and filled with love. There is still a mystery to be solved in Cutthroat and it hasn't been easy to solve but it's getting closer. I am enjoying this series.

I have been loving this series since it started and I'll just add this one to the mix. The suspense is mounting on who the killer is but I loved reading Samantha, Max and Hardin's story!!! Kept me hooked from the first page.

Dr. Samantha Smyth . . . child prodigy, genius and now ER surgeon. She’s younger than people expect for a surgeon, but she is also inexperienced in romance, never having time for relationships. After a chance encounter with the town mechanics Mac and Hardin, however, Sam’s finally getting attention as a woman, rather than as a genius.

With just one look, Mac and Hardin know that Dr. Sam is the woman for them. They’re willing to give her their love, protection and as much passion as she can handle. When they find out someone is messing with their girl, they’ll do everything they can to make her safe, especially since there is still a murderer on the loose and Sam looks remarkably like the first victim!

Mountain Desire was a fantastic installment in Vanessa Vale’s Wild Mountain Men series! I adored the quirkiness that was Samantha! And, the meet cute with Mac will have readers laughing out loud! Mountain Desire was an insta-love romance, like all of Vanessa’s stories, but the characters made this book a stand out in the series. The drama was not what I expected and made for a great twist! 4 stars.

This book is intense because of the characters. I adore Sam, shes so naive but sweet and lovely. Mac is some kind of Bad — Boy and Hardin quite the opposite. As in every book by Vanessa Vale, the protas hook up together very soon. I love the sweetness and protectiveness she's telling. Every girl with all her senses together would adore that too. I love this series because there is not only steamy hot insta love but a very suspenseful story about a killer going around in town. This mixture of sweet love and packed romantic suspense is perfect to the bone.
Well done Vanessa I love your style, your ideas and your characters which aren't just cute they also transport that nobody needs to be perfect, nobody is perfect, love waits around the corner (or in the ER room :) and a murderer needs to be found. More I want more....

When Mac and Hardin respond to a call to fix a flat tire for a Dr. Sam Smyth, they’re not expecting Samantha – especially after she’s mistaken Mac for an elderly hypochondriac patient! I enjoyed the almost gentle buildup in the suspense in this book, the clues that might not have been clues, the hints that all is not as it seems with all the characters, and the extremely hot menage scenes. The relationship is more than the menage too, and, despite it being instalove, it’s well written and a seriously enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to more in this series!

This is a great addition to the continuing Wild Mountain Men series. When Hardin and Mac see Sam they know she is the one for them. Sam is one of the youngest ever surgeons and because of this, she has had little to no social life and is still a virgin. She finds it hard to believe that these two men together want her but likes the idea. There is danger stalking her and when she is taken, Mac and Hardin, along with the police, rescue her. Erin’s murderer is still on the loose and no one knows who it is. The story is well written and entertaining. I loved it, along with the other books in this series, and I would highly recommend it as a great read.

Mountain Desire is the third book in the Wild Mountain Men series, and while the romance stands alone, there’s a lot of references to the previous two books. Samantha is a genius, a doctor, and a virgin, but that doesn’t matter when she meets Mac and Hardin. They want all of her, but will Sam open up enough emotionally to start something real?

I am really enjoying this series! I love the overarching mystery of who the murderer is, but I also love the relationships that form in this small town. Samantha, Mac, and Hardin feel an instant connection to each other, but Sam is so used to being on her own that she doesn’t know how to open up. I loved how Sam follow her gut and enjoyed watching her learn to trust. Mac and Hardin are exactly what she needs, men who are willing to always put her first, protect her, and love her! Their passion definitely reigns strong in this book, with enough mystery and intrigue to keep me flipping pages! The danger aspect in this book, while wasn’t shocking, was still exciting and I can’t wait to see how it will effect the final book! I really enjoyed reading Sam, Hardin, and Mac and will gladly pick up any book from Ms. Vale!
