I haven’t always been this bad…

Up until recently, I was the kind of girl who wore white cotton panties and bent at the knees rather than the waist.

Pomp and circumstance changed all that.

Jaxson Cassidy was my first taste of bad, and I liked it more than I should have. Just not in the way I was meant to. I couldn’t help myself though. I found him irresistible. That sexy grin, those skilled fingers, and that dirty, dirty mouth were a lethal combination.

I wasn’t supposed to want him. I wasn’t supposed to let him put his hands on me. I wasn’t supposed to do a lot of things…but I did.

He wants to keep me close.
I should push him away.

He says he can help me.
I’m not so sure.

For some reason, he thinks there’s good left in me.
What if he’s wrong?

Everyone knows a good boy can’t turn a bad girl around.
Everyone knows it’s always the other way.
Everyone…except him.

The one thing I loved about this book, Jaxson Cassidy.

“To me Jaxson was an angel who fucked like the devil”.

I did enjoy this story, it was paced well, I did like the way the story was built up. But I struggled with the heroine. By the end of the book she redeemed herself for me but she took away alot of my enjoyment of this story. Sadie Banks really rubbed me the wrong way. She was constantly running when she knew no facts. I get she was scared, but damn girl stop running.... To me, she didn’t act like a 28 year old woman.

But as I stated, I enjoyed this story. It was a good read, kept me wanting to find out more and what was going to happen. Recommend to those who want sweet, some angst, and some steamy parts too 😍

Jaxson “Sundance” Cassidy was always the good guy. Sweet, polite and caring. Jaxson is a successful photographer with a once in a lifetime chance to shoot for Sports Illustrated at many exotic locations. After capturing the precious moments of his ex-fiancée’s wedding, Jaxson is off to a new, fresh start. One he desperately needs.

“You know,” he said, “sometimes I think the only way to get by in this world is to step off for a while.”

Sadie Banks is also looking to “step off for a while” although not intentionally. Sadie is full of self-doubt and feels as though she needs to make amends for her past “mistakes.” She has led a solitary life since she was 17 years old, never staying in one place too long. Circumstances have brought her together with Jaxson and things get hot, scorching hot!

I turned my wrist over and stared at the image of a rainbow inked right over my pulse point. It was a reminder of the bright side. The symbol of hope. Balance. Good luck. Of a better future. It all felt so ironic now.

Hope.

I wanted to have it.

We first met Jaxson Cassidy in Kim Karr’s The Thing About Love which gave you a glimpse of him through that story. Come A Little Closer is 100% a stand-alone, telling Jaxson’s story. What an unexpected, amazing two books!

So, I say WOW! This book has it all. Action, suspense, romance. And as I said above, it is HOT! Scorching hot! There are so many sides to Sadie, to Jaxson, and to their situation – no spoilers here! Jaxson is definitely my new man crush! The first few chapters were a bit slow, but then, what a page turner!

Kim Karr really develops Jaxson and Sadie. Taking them to the next level, emotionally and physically. Her descriptions of the various tropical locations made me feel as though I was there. I actually “googled” one of the islands!

So, “Come A Little Closer” and read this book! There will be another book about Sadie’s cousin, Finn, Something Just Like This, coming later this year and I can’t wait to read it! As I said above, these two inter connected books have been a wonderful surprise. I have really enjoyed them and look forward to the next one to come!

Kim Karr has written an angsty, sexy, and thrilling romance.
I was so enthralled with this book, I couldn’t even put it down. This story gives you everything you love in a suspenseful romance book.

Sadie Banks life has been pretty hectic and things just aren’t going right for her. She’s had a rough life since she was 17 and things aren’t getting any easier. Then a terrible accident happens and her life gets worse than she has ever dreamed it could. Now the good girl has to become a bad one.

Jaxson Cassidy has hit the all time high of his career, the cover of the Swimsuit Issue for Sports Illustrated. As a photographer this is one of his dreams come true. Until one night turns everything upside down.

These two are hot! I mean like smoking freaking hot. We watch them grow together, learn each other and we watch them fall in love. But there are so twists and turns that will have them questioning everything. It’s a very bumpy ride to the end but as always true love prevails. And all you have to do is ‘come a little closer’.

Highly recommended.

A non spoiler review.....

What a RIDE!!! WHOA!I wasn’t expecting this twisted thrilling turn of events. Wow she got me!! TOTALLY unexpected.

Sadie and Jaxson burned the pages with their hot as lava sex scenes. There was nothing and I mean NOTHING she wasn’t willing to do for him in. His Smoldering eyes captivated her at every turn.
I’m telling you HOT, HOT, HOT. I think my kindle was on fire. Their chemistry was undeniably off the charts. The way they connected you could FEEL IT.

Every outcome I thought I knew was thrown out the window.
The story just kept building. The angst growing. It was deep, it was emotional and it will take you on a journey and the ride of your life.

The writing as usual impeccable. The flow, perfection. It was a game I couldn’t get enough of. I felt like I needed to play along. I wanted in. I couldn’t get enough. I absolutely loved EVERY SINGLE PART OF THIS BOOK. Phenomenal.

Ok ... I'm a bit ... confused/sad/torn/something ... about this book and this review. I was so looking forward to this story. And book-alzheimer sufferer that I am, I couldn't remember that Jaxson would be the hero of this story. So when Simon appeared, I thought he was gonna be the hero and then he goes and does stupid stuff. The most stupid stuff ever. I almost stopped reading several times in the first 25% of the book. The very beginning of the story was already confusing for me. Sadie talks and thinks a lot of confusing stuff in the beginning and then the whole 12-step alcoholics anonymous stuff. I hate religion and I don't understand why addicts need God to get better? Why??? I hated that part of the book.
Then come all the other crimes and stupid moments that happen in the first 25%.
Drinking.
Driving while intoxicated.
Fleeing from the scene of an accident.
Stealing.
Identity Theft.
Unprotected sex with a stranger!
Leaving the country pretending to be someone else.
Keep on pretending to be that someone in another country and in the hotel.
SO MUCH stuff. I really was THIS close to stop reading. BUT, I also wanted to read Jaxson's story. And Jaxson is mega adorable and sexy and talented. And once Sadie is really with him, I could tolerate her so much better. But the beginning of the book really hurt the story in my opinion. It should've been done a bit better. Especially the driving after drinking those cocktails? The whole book is about Sadie's dad and his drinking and how she doesn't want to end up like that, and then she goes and drives 'drunk'???? It all turns out totally ok in the end, but I didn't like a lot of moments in this book.
BUT - when we forget about all the stupid stuff, this was a really great romance. Cute, very sexy, sunny, exciting, angsty. I really liked reading it once I got past all the weird moments! I really loved Jaxson ...
And now I can't wait to read Finn's story!!! Even though I don't really like fighter romances! BUT, he's a nerdy fighter, so it might be really funny!

DON'T LET ME STOP YOU FROM ENJOYING THIS BOOK - I'm very weird when it comes to what I like and dislike in my books - READ IT - You'll love Jaxson and the vacation atmosphere and the mystery & excitement ...

Sadie is feeling pretty down and out after losing her job. She has no money to her name and has no idea what to do from here. When she receives news from her old beach side hometown she decides to take a visit there and see if the place has changed much. She did not expect to run into an old childhood friend, which then leads to a night she would rather forget.

Something terrible happens and it's all her fault, from here she makes a series of very reckless decisions which eventuates in her getting on a plane to Antigua. This is where her path intercepts with Jaxson Cassidy, he was one of the reckless choices she made and by all rights he should despise the sight of her. To be fair he is livid to see her again but also curious to unravel this girl's secrets.

Once these two eventually clear the air Jaxson makes a proposition to Sadie, she really has nothing to lose by saying yes. He needs her help and she is struggling with the guilt of what she has left behind in her hometown. She had no idea just how life changing this journey with Jaxson would be and neither did he. They may have met in a completely strange and unconventional way but there is a strong attraction and connection there that Jaxson just can't ignore.

Six weeks on beautiful sun kissed beaches with the hottest man she has ever met is like a dream come true. This cotton panty wearing girl has a very naughty side to her that only comes out to play when she is around Jaxson. For the most part Sadie is enjoying herself but guilt and regret is never far from her mind. Jaxson manages to keep her mind and body very distracted though.

Jaxson knows how conflicted Sadie is feeling about what happened and how it weighs on her every day, he is determined to help her so she can be free of it. He has never felt the way he feels with Sadie and now he just needs her to come a little closer to him when he knows she is desperate to pull away.

I had no idea what I was in for when I began reading this, first I was thinking it would be a second chance romance and then it went quickly into a fast paced thrilling adventure. There were family secrets to be discovered and a big suspense element too. The steam level was very high, I loved how dirty Jaxson was! A very addictive weekend read for me :-)

When i read the blurp, i thought this book is about cat and mouse. The chase, power play, tricks and romance. But i end up with disappointment.

The sex is steamy but.... nothing else to support it. Not the story, not the character etc. I mean how a person just trust someone who just steal and lie to him?? And hire her to be his assistant? Just like that. Insta job. Weird.

And i can not help feeling that Jackson is sexually harrasing Sadie and demanding sexual gratification as punishment. Yikes. I stop listening. I just can't...

For someone that used to hate reading let's just say that today I'm addicted. I used to say that reading was a waste of time and the fact that I hated the smell of books was another minus point to add to that reason. But after 3 years of reading non stop I'm a goner.
The fact that knowing new authors, authors that take our opinions in consideration was a way to make me want more and more.
Kim Karr is one of the authors that made my love for book flourish and her books held me hostage. Her writing is hot and sassy, sweet and heartfelt with a few bumps on the road.
Come a Little Closer is her latest release and tells the stories of Sadie and Jaxson.
Sadie is a lost girl trying to find her way, but how can she do it? How can you become a better person when you don't have the strength to do so? Losing her job was the first step in that direction but how can you move forward when your past keeps bringing you down.
Jaxson has his dream job. He's a photographer and loves his job. When he was selected to become the lead photographer for Sports Illustrated he just hit gold. Leaving everything behind to follow his dream was the right thing to do. Or not...
Let me just say that the way this book started left me hooked beyond repair...
Superb plot, super engaging and intense, with some hot stuff into the mix.
The interation between the characters started in a way but with every flip of a page you could witness the change.
The story progressed in a way that made me smile, cry, get really mad or in love. How can broken person start to heal? I wanted to get into the book and shake some characters or hit them all at once... Things were happening and I felt helpless.
This book presented us with love, friendship, desire, second chances as well as betrayal, deceive, lies and punishments.
I've wanted to read Jaxson's story since I've read "The Thing About Love" and I'm so glad I did. It was a beautifull story with ups and downs that made me dream. Can't wait for more...
Kim you rock. Your words, your passion to create this masterpieces made me dream and freak out at the same time. I always want more and now I'm thinking what you'll write next...

4, Keep you on the edge of your seat, Stars!!

“This guy was everything. Rogue. Raw. Savage. And yet refined. He belonged on the runway. His eyes. Those abs. That scruff. He was so delicious.”

“A freak of nature that was truly beautiful. Rainbows were meant to symbolize all things good…Hope. Dreams. Serendipity. What a cruel joke. Every single one of those things seemed so very far out of my reach.”

“I hadn’t felt anything like this, ever. This was sex between strangers. Sex between two lost souls. Sex. Raw. Savage. Real. Uninhibited. It was what I needed, and what he needed, too….at least for the moment.”

“My wrist laid upright and in the moonlight I could see the ink on it. The rainbow. The sliver of hope. I always clung to, and I knew right here I always would. Hope. No one would ever take it from me.”

What a crazy, crazy, thrilling ride. Kim Karr has taken my emotions on one thrilling and suspenseful ride that kept me on my toes right until the very end….

Come A Little Closer follows the story of Jaxson and Sadie. On the run since the age of 17, Sadie has been trying to do the best with the cards that life has thrown at her. Her life is in shambles and just when things couldn’t possibly get worst, life throws another obstacle at her. Riddled with guilt, she does the unthinkable. But, what she never planned on was Jaxson. He is everything that she shouldn’t want, but can’t stay away from. Life has thrown these two together for the craziest reasons. Their romance should never have been, but proves impossible to let go of…

Come A Little Closer is a fast paced and thrilling romance. I was intrigued by Sadie from the moment I met her. I felt sorry for her and couldn’t imagine what she was feeling. She captivated me with the choices she made and how far she was willing to go to make things right. She wasn’t all bad, but she wasn’t all good either. She was just lost, damaged, and desperately trying to make things right. Jaxson just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time. Reeling from seeing his ex get married, he was completely lost. And when he met Sadie, somehow everything just clicked and felt right. Their chemistry was dangerous filled with an intense desire that couldn’t be controlled. They were both a little bad mixed with goodness. Their romance shouldn’t have happened and it was definitely one messy ride to happily ever after, but their story was one that I could not put down.

Overall, I thought this book was a really enjoyable read. One that you can easily finish in just one sitting. I loved reading Jaxson’s story and seeing all the crazy turns it took. His story kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t believe all the crazy twists and couldn’t wait to see how it would all come together in the end. Come A Little Closer is not just filled with suspense. It’s got plenty of action, just the right amount of angst, loads of drama, scorching hot & steamy moments that will just keep you begging for more.

Sighss, each book I read by Kim Karr, I fall in love with her a little more!!! And I already Love..LOVE her!!!

Man Come A Little Closer took me on such a wild ride!! It is full of twists and turns, ups and downs and full blown loopty loops...haha Really I could hardly put it down. Unfortunatley I had to do those daily chores, like feed the hubs, take a shower, get dressed..lmao Soo freaking good!!!

Sadie Banks nickname was thief. She had done something terrible when she was younger and she had to pay for what she had done. She could never forgive herself for it. And low and behold it will come back to haunt her.

Fast forward several years, she worked for a magazine called Hotlanta. It was a need to know about everything Atlanta guide. Buttt yet again, she ends up doing something she wasn't supposed to do...well actually she didn't do it, her assistant did but she ends up taking the blame. Her assistant ended up using a stock photo on Sadie's article and that was a huge no-no in this publication. Sadie ends up loosing her job.

She then decides to go back to her home town. She runs into an old friend, the town rebel. They hang out, have some drinks, reminisce and Sadie knows it's time to go home. The old friend ends up needing a ride cuz he has a lot more drinks then she has. Against her better judgement, she agrees to take him to where he is staying. Something ends up happening and this is where all the rollercoaster ride of bad judgements start. Ohhh y'all, it will keep you on the edge of your seat at times screaming at your Kindle...lol Sooo yess, go one click on release day and find out what the heck happens!!

I gave Come A Little Closer 5 iScream Cones!! Thank you for this awesome read Kim Karr, it was such a great book!!!

Sadie Banks has just lost her job, and to top that off, her past is creeping into her present and that just isn't good.
Jaxon Cassidy has just been the photographer at his Ex Fiance's wedding, yeah that sucks, now though he's sold up and diving into a new project that could launch his career.
This book, this book had me reeling !!!!! Seriously? Sneaky author but hell of a read!!!
At first after a particular event involving Sadie, and another person, my first reactions were, eek oh no no no, don't do that! I have to say that the heroine's actions at that point didn't impress me, and i was unsure if i could grow to like her. BUTTTT well what can i say, Kim Karr has wrote a story that will tangle you up. How do Sadie and Jaxon collide? I aint gonna tell you, other than, this book is steaming sexy hot, its addictive reading, it grips you and won't let you go because there are so many twists you won't know which way to turn. Did i mention it's hot? I really mean Jaxon Cassidy is HOT, HOT !!! oh my heart !! Now there is definitely a man i wanna keep !! Needless to say, after ignoring all life around me because.. i simply couldn't put this book down,i was to afraid to miss anything, i ended up drying my tears and my heart smiling again, all is well with the world!! Not only did fall for Jaxon, I loved Sadie too !!!

I have to reflect a bit on the story line without giving to much away because it is something that I haven't read about before and it really intrigued me, I've read about enemies to lovers even second chance at love but this one doesn't fit into either of those tropes really even though the two people involved meet for the first time and then a second and one doesn't really like the other, but even this feels different, it felt as if the stars had aligned and the events that brought them together were meant to happen just as they had unfolded. Whether you believe in faith or destiny or something else altogether things played out the way they needed to for both parties.
Ms. Karr is taking us on a Steamy, Suspenseful, Rollercoaster Ride so Buckle up and Enjoy!

4.5* Don't Judge a Photographer by his Cover!

I have to admit, at first I found it a bit hard to follow and when the storyline was unfolding, I worried it was going to take me to a place I wasn't happy to visit........ but wow, boom, bang..... a chapter or two later and I was hooked - bit time! Even though I guessed one part of the plot early on, I needed to work out the how and why, which means I was captivated the whole way. This book is a little different to what Ms Karr writes, it is a little darker but it still has all the other elements you will be expecting. It has mystery, romance, humor and some steamy sex scenes. At times I was giggling or full on laughing, others I was a little angsty as to what was about to happen. I was intrigued by the storyline with its twists and suspense and I was also bewitched in the love story of Jaxson and Sadie.

Sadie is a good girl, trying to overcome her upbringing, then a series of events and a very bad decision lands her in big trouble. Now she thinks she is a bad person. Good guy Jaxson, feels it is overrated, so for the last 12 months is being a little selfish and dipping his toe on the dark side, in being bad. A one nightstand after some drinking goes very wrong for him, and he too is now in a bind. They must both learn to trust again, before either can amend the wrongs. I loved both these characters immensely. I loved Jaxson's dirty mouth, and I adored Sadie's sass. I enjoyed the little slow burn we got from them and even though I revel in a good romp, sometimes less is more. Overall, it is a great book that I highly recommend you give a go.

*I’m grateful for the early copy provided by the author for my honest opinion.

This was a FANTASTIC Suspense-Romance...I don't know what you call it but I call it AMAZING.
Not going to give any of my favorite quotes from the book or a run down of each character because you need to experience this book blind. No spoilers.

This is one of those books you need to experience as it happens and not read reviews prior.

It's so good. A one click for sure!.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Kim Karr. Her romances are always the perfect combination of endearing characters, touching storylines, and crazy passion. She can write fun and light-hearted romance to a 'T', but this right here is my absolute favorite type. Come A Little Closer was mysterious, suspenseful, and loaded with steamy sizzle... This is Kim Karr's writing at its best!

Sadie Banks has lost everything, including her job and the only family she had left. She feels like she’s pretty much at rock bottom, but when yet another tragedy arises, Sadie is forced to choose between right and wrong. Her decision could take her down an even darker path, but it could also lead her to paradise, freedom, and the man of her dreams.

Jaxson Cassidy, also known as ‘Sundance,’ was easy going and fun-loving but tired of always being the good guy and ending up last. His ex-fiancé not only broke his heart but just re-married, and he is just determined not be ‘that guy’ anymore. Now solely focused on his career, the ladies are off limits, but then he meets one in particular who not only puts his job at risk, but his heart as well…

The steam was flowing from my iPad while I was reading this! Seriously, Sadie and Jaxson shared a hot and unbridled passion together, and with all of their initial animosity, a relationship was definitely unexpected. However, everything just fell into place easily with them, because they not only found passion together but comfort in each other as well.

I loved that Come A Little Closer was more on the edgier and suspenseful side of romance with more mystery to the intriguing storyline. The story was fast paced and full of suspense and twists throughout. It had a thrilling feel to it that actually reminded me a bit of Blow and Crush from her Tainted Love Duet, which also kept me glued to the pages and I absolutely loved as well. Although the ending was maybe a little too perfect, it was still incredibly sweet!

I really enjoyed the travel escape to the tropical islands of Antigua, Barbados, and St. George for Jaxson’s photo shoots. I also liked how Karr incorporated more sensitive issues into the storyline, like growing up with alcoholic parents and the yellow ribbons tied to trees in hopes of friends and family returning home safely from their military service. These touching elements really brought more reality and emotion into the story.

It was also great to see Finn, Jaxson’s ex-fiancé, Jules, and her new husband, Jake from The Thing About Love again, and I am really looking forward to Finn’s story, which is coming this fall in Something Just Like This!

Such a great read, and I highly recommend it!

4.5 Stars for Me!

Sometimes you have to go through shit to get to the other side! I’m so glad they both found happiness together! It was fate that they met & fell in love! I love the sweet note about the Yellow Ribbon that it’s a symbol of hope, faith & Love! Gives me hope that one day I’ll find someone as amazing as Jaxson! Loved this book so much! One thing that stood out to me, that I loved was, that Jaxson had goals for himself & his career, that he didn't just want to shoot for one publication, he wanted to shoot for them all! I also loved that he helped Sadie in her career as well. He knew how much she loved to write, so he took it upon himself to submit her writing to her former boss which worked out really well for the both of them! This was so emotional but in the end absolutely perfect! I want more of Jaxson & Sadie!!!! This is by far the most emotional book I've ever read. I really enjoyed this book though! I highly recommend it! #JaxsonandSadie #Fate #SundancePhotography #SupportiveCouple

“I hadn’t felt anything like this, ever. This was sex between strangers. Sex between two lost souls. Sex. Raw. Savage. Real. Uninhibited. It was what I needed, and what he needed, too….at least for the moment.”

I have never read a book so sad and full of grief, but at the same time so sexy and filled with lust.
It was balanced perfectly. And I absoltely loved the ending.

‘Step off for a while’

The thought behind that phrase seems to be that everyone needs to veer off the path every once in a while…let things go and experience life in all its glory, but while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a little bad…with walking on the wild side, so to speak, when someone makes a string of bad decisions, resulting in a series of unfortunate predicaments, there comes a point when the reins need to be pulled and a step back on the well-thought out path needs to happen.

Since Sadie Banks was 17 years old, her life’s course has taken some serious misturns and because she’s messed up a significant number of times, she doesn’t feel she deserves forgiveness, happiness or love, which are the things she actually needs in order to pull herself away from her bad behavior and make amends for her past misdeeds.

But nothing’s simple in life, especially one that has callously let Sadie down time and time again, so when Jaxson Cassidy, veritable good guy, sets his sights on being a little bad with his little ‘thief,’ it’s difficult to ascertain if these two characters have what it takes to weather the storm that always seems to be brewing behind Sadie and just might destroy everything that Jaxson has worked so hard to achieve.

Based on how Sadie and her actions are depicted, especially at the beginning of her story, I think it’s fair to say that some readers might be a bit turned off by her. They might struggle to understand the string of events that happened and perhaps see her decisions as irredeemable. But all I can say is…keep reading…there are a lot of twists and turns in Come a Little Closer, some easily predicted and some that I never saw coming; regardless though, a clear perspective with be necessary before judgment can truly be given about Sadie and her bad girl image.

Sadie and Jaxson’s story strays away from Kim Karr’s usual story line, and it’s that idea that made me suppress my reactions and commentary about the characters and their actions until I could understand everything that occurred and the difficulties that those incidences caused; everyone and everything involved makes it all way more complex than anyone would have guessed, so instead of being reactionary while reading, I allowed everything to play out and then used the facts of every situation to ascertain the truth because it is definitely not a black/white scenario.

Readers will absolutely love Jaxson’s character and enjoy his walk on the ‘wildside’ with Sadie, but readers will do well to remember that not everything is what it seems, so amidst the scorching scenes pay attention to any and every detail because there’s so much more to Sadie than her bad girl behaviors and that’s what allows me to see past her mistakes and understand who she truly is and wants to be.

I absolutely loved this story and the characters that were within this story. I loved that characters from the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and we got to see what was happening with the main characters from that story. I loved the suspenseful element of this story and the way that the story kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through the story. There were many twists and turns throughout the story that I did not see coming. The storyline of this story was a definite page turner and I absolutely loved every page of this story.

Sadie Banks has had a string of bad luck in her life and her past is currently coming back to haunt her. It’s obvious that Sadie tries to the right thing in life, but circumstances cause her to sometimes do things that she doesn’t like. This causes her to feel like she is a bad person despite trying to the right thing.

Jaxson was introduced to readers in the authors other book ‘The Thing About Love’ and in this book we got to learn more about him. We learnt about the devastation he felt about his engagement to Jules ending and her marrying someone else. We also got to see the hot dominant alpha male that created some incredible hot moments in the story. Jaxson I absoltuly loved reading about and found him to be not only incredible sexy character but also a good guy.

Come a little closer is about Sadie Banks whose life completely change due to circumstances out of her control. This sees her meeting Jaxson who was at the top of his career and sees the good in her. But Sadie thinks she is a bad girl that doesn’t deserve love, can the good guy turn her around.

Kim Karr has written an incredible story that flowed all the way through. This story had everything I love in a story, angst, drama, suspense, romance and steamy moments to create an engaging storyline. These two characters are amazing together that had an intense connection between them that resulted in many hot moments. This is a definite must read for everyone and one that I highly recommend.

But there are so many twists and turns that will have them questioning everything. It’s a very bumpy ride to the end but as always true love prevails. And all you have to do is ‘come a little closer’.

Highly recommended.

This is not just a love story. Yes, there is romance and hot scenes, but more than that, it is a mystery to be solved and a thrilling adventure into the life a "good girl" who ends up in the claws of evil.

Sadie just lost her job. No income, no prospects, and she feels lost. She just lost her father and his father's friend who was her safe haven. She is vulnerable and we know evil loves to manipulate vulnerable individuals.

Jaxson is the ultimate image of sex appeal on two legs. His newly found opportunity to shoot this year's Sports Illustrated cover and swimsuit edition can change his life forever. Getting mixed up with Sadie is definitely not what he had planned. Fate has thrown them together and he is a gentleman at heart.

When these two souls are thrown together, this story becomes a non-stop thrilling journey of discovery - both on the physical and mind-bending level. Innocence and evil will encounter determination and justice as our story develops to a surprising conclusion.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thank you to the author for sharing a copy with me.

Kim Karr has brought us a brilliant fast paced and thrilling romance. Once you begin this book you will not be able to put it down and you will be on the edge of your seat with the amazing twists. This book is the great recipe of angst and drama mixed in with the hot and steamy.

This book is the story of Sadie and Jaxson. Sadie has been on the run since she was 17, doing the best she can to survive. Jaxson is everything she shouldn't want but he draws her in.

Sadie intrigued and captivated me from the very beginning. She was so lost and damaged, and all she wanted to do was try to make things right. Jaxson just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time.

Jaxson is trying to deal with seeing his ex-girlfriend get married but soon as he saw Sadie everything felt right and clicked into place.

Another great must read from Kim Karr

Sadie Banks has never had it easy. From one mistake, to another bad judgement, to covering for others; things aren’t looking up- in fact they are just getting worse! Jaxon may have lost the women he thought he was meant to end up with but he isn’t going to let that stop him from doing what he wants in life. However, when Sadie and Jaxson cross paths both their lives are pushed onto a rollercoaster path. Will these two be able to overcome the lies, secrets, drama and all the stuff in-between to come together or will fate play with them a little too much and push them apart?

“I shut out the darkness and wanted to look toward the light. The thing was, I wasn’t sure there was any left.”

I have read and enjoy a lot of Kim Karr books but I have to say I think this was my favourite! It was sexy and passionate which I always know I’m going to get when I dive into one of Kim’s books but I loved the unexpectedness of this story. I read the blurb but it didn’t give much away so it really wasn’t what I was expecting but in a good way!

“That somewhere beneath all this bad, I was still the same girl I had always been. Lost. Scared. Good. And still me.”

One of the reasons I loved this story was because of its characters. I loved Sadie and Jaxson and I liked that they were a little different to other lead characters. Sadie wasn’t perfect at all, In fact she’s a little flawed and I actually really liked that she wasn’t completely put together and that her life was crazy. It was refreshing and different and I honesty found her so easy to read and get to know. And how could you not love Jaxson! A sexy, kind of broody alpha male whose alpha side isn’t automatically there and I loved that he had to dig a little deeper to get it out. The way he wanted to stand by Sadie despite not knowing if she was always telling the truth literally made my heart sigh.

“Two lost souls. Broken. Damaged. Incomplete. The electric sparks. The dangerous chemistry. The lust that filled the air. The desire that made my body hum.”

wasn’t just a romance story; although there was plenty of passion and chemistry and love to keep any romance reader happy. This story actually has so much more; so many twists and turns. I honestly couldn’t tell where we were going next or what drama our characters were going to be put through in the next chapter. It really kept me on my toes and kept me hooked deep into the plot line. Just so refreshing to read something a little different but still able to keep the things we as readers always enjoy reading!

Once again I've finished a Kim Karr book and am so happy with what I just read. Again this author gave us an amazing story. I felt like this one was a little darker in some aspects then previous stories I've read by her recently, but it just added another level of interest for me.

The story line was different then what I was expecting, but so very absorbing. Jaxon "Sundance" Cassidy was so much more in this book then I even thought to imagine when I read The Thing About Love. I was absolutely crazy about him in this book. And his leading lady was slightly damaged and broken but was this fantastic character with so many layers that I felt like I kept uncovering as I read.

There were so many elements to this book. So many stories in the story. But it flowed and tied together so perfectly. This is another Kim Karr book that I can highly recommend.

This is the first book I have read by Kim Karr but definitely won't be the last!

The books takes you on a wild ride.

Sadie is a good girl who keeps to the straight and narrow. Until the unexpected happens and she is thrown into an unbearable situation. Will she be able to forgive herself?

Jaxson is a photographer making a name for himself. He unexpectedly meets Sadie. Will she become more than just his "little thief"?

Great book! Lots of twists and turns. At first I wasn't sure but enjoyed this story.

Sadie and Jaxxon an emotional angst filled romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Sadie Banks has certainly made some very poor decisions and nothing has come easy to her. She seems to always end up in some kind of mess with each choice that she makes , even if some of them are not her fault.
Jaxxon Cassidy is the sexy, sweet talking photographer that may have let Sadie slip though his fingers years ago but no matter the consequences this time he will not allow that to happen no matter how bad it may get this time !! Is it possible that Jaxxon can finally convince Sadie that she is a good person that deserves to be happy? This is a sexy rollercoaster ride of emotion that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

It would be easy to spoil this book so this will be vague...

Sadie Banks was having a bad day and had no idea it was about to get even worse. And when she tries to do something to help the situation, her life just gets even more complicated.

Jaxson Cassidy lost the woman he thought he would marry. Now he is stepping outside of his comfort zone, taking chances, and embracing new opportunities.

Their paths cross. Their lives become entwined. They have chemistry. But there are secrets, lies, and hidden agendas. When truths start to be revealed, the plot thickens. And they keep getting deeper and deeper. But can they really trust? Is someone playing games?

This is a sexy, sweet, love story built on secrets, lies, and underlying mysteries. They are two lost and lonely souls that forge a connection and develop strong needs. They are riding the line between good and bad. They both have usually felt unwanted and not good enough. They have up walls and tend to be runners. They have some things in common, and are compatible. They challenge each other. She brings out his more assertive, dirty talking, dominant side. While he makes her feel safe and wanted. They make each other feel alive and passionate. But is it real or just a temporary distraction?

There are some things you can't run from even if you try.

I was glad Jaxson got his own book. He was broodier and bossier than I expected him to be, and was embracing a bit more of a bad boy persona. He doesn't want to be the good guy that finishes last anymore. Sadie was a bit harder to warm up to since so much negative was going on around her, but she grew on me. I enjoyed cameos from Jules, Jake, and Finn from The Thing About Love, but this can also be read as a total stand-alone. This story had some interesting surprises and twists, and I was glad to get dual points of view. I am looking forward to more with Finn, the hacker/fighter in an upcoming book.

I was gifted a copy.
