Module INTENSIVE INTRODUCTORY LATIN, 2A

Module code: GC299A
Credits: 5
Semester: 2
Department: ANCIENT CLASSICS
International: Yes
Overview Overview

This module continues the systematic introduction to the grammar and vocabulary of the Latin language that is offered in GC298. The primary focus remains thorough language acquisition, but to this end extracts of many Roman authors are read with little adaptation, deepening students’ awareness of cultural contexts and the richness of the Latin literary heritage. By the end of the year, students will be reading unadapted selections of classic authors such as Caesar, Catullus, Cicero, and Virgil.
