One Carbon World

¡Descubriendo la perla de África! 🌍✨ (English below) La semana pasada tuve el privilegio de explorar Uganda, un país que va más allá de sus impresionantes paisajes. Estuve en el proyecto Kijani Forestry, una iniciativa increíble con la que hemos colaborado para generar créditos de carbono y hacer frente al cambio climático. Lo que realmente hace especial a Uganda no son solo sus paisajes, como podrás apreciar en las fotos que comparto, sino la extraordinaria amabilidad y educación de su gente. A pesar de enfrentar desafíos, con más del 40% de la población viviendo en la pobreza, presencié de primera mano cómo, en la región norte del país, la comunidad se une con las herramientas adecuadas, como Kijani, para construir un futuro mejor. La dedicación al trabajo y la vida en comunidad marca la verdadera diferencia. I was immersed in the Kijani Forestry project, an incredible initiative we've been collaborating on to generate carbon credits and tackle climate change. What truly makes Uganda special isn't just its views, as you can see in the photos I'm sharing, but the extraordinary kindness and education of its people. Despite facing challenges, with over 40% of the population living in poverty, I witnessed firsthand how, in the northern region of the country, the community comes together with the right tools, like Kijani, to build a better future. Dedication to work and community life makes a real difference. In northern Uganda, Kijani Forestry has collaborated with local farmers in a long-term afforestation and reforestation program, reshaping sustainable farming practices in the region. 🌳 Their partnership focuses on sustainable charcoal and timber production, aiming to restore soil fertility, promote biodiversity, and combat climate change through carbon sequestration. This initiative is a significant effort brought about by the Kijani Forestry, One Carbon World, and Climit_net teams. Recently, Team Earthood , Riya Sharma and Dr. Nepolion Borah had the opportunity to explore the intricate workings of this sustainable alliance.
